LaPietra presents his debut release, the "Cause & Effect EP" on the Wildlife imprint.
For close to 7 years, Chris LaPietra has worked hard to become a mainstay within the Calgary nightlife community. Being a passionate and personable DJ/producer, his drive got him into a lifelong friendship and music production partnership with the accomplished Micah Paul Lukasewich (a.k.a. GU and Audiotherapy). Chris also managed the globally renowned record label, Ruhnsong recordings, which throughout its existence has seen supported by big names like John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and many others. Chris’ early affinity for music began with the guitar, leading him down the path of song writing and music production. His natural curiosity brought him to tribally infused techno and house music, influenced by the likes of Steve Lawler, Dubfire and Nick Fanciulli.
The two titles in the "Cause & Effect EP" offer a clear insight of LaPietra's state of the art sound. Both cuts breathe all the elements of today's funky house sound, all the while driving the audience on the dance floor with an irresistible, progressive backing track. Chris LaPietra takes us for a ride in the Wild side of Life with two underground tracks perfect to drop in your long sets. Cause is an intresting mixture of deep house and progressive with late night style melodies, groovy tribalish beats, deep basslines and wide variety of vocal samples that are streched, distorted, chopped, echoed in a very creative and experimental way. Effect continues on the same deep pattern with hypnotic repeated grooves, understated melodies, housey rhythm and cool vocal too. Two great tracks to warm up the atmosphere or to use as main dishes for your tasty menu. Check it!
