Alongside the State Awards ceremony on the 15th of November, the festival programming on the 16th and 17th of November and the talent program Next Beats, Buma Rotterdam Beats offers a two-day business conference where leading names in pop music will share their personal story. Riggs Morales from record company Shady Records will talk about the ins and outs of working with artists such as Eminem and 50 Cent, Dave Free from Top Dawg Entertainment will tell us about the rise of the label, with artists like Kendrick Lamar, SchoolBoy Q and Jay Rock, and discuss the international marketing strategy of Interscope Records, and Reggae Pop phenomenon Shaggy will talk about his platinum career and his new record label Ranch Entertainment.

With this year's festival programming, Buma Rotterdam Beats takes another ambitious step towards the future with huge names such as: headliner Hudson Mohawke, who will be performing live at Buma Rotterdam Beats; the hit rapper of the moment 2 Chainz; Kanye West's musical partner DJ A-Trak; beat sensation Machinedrum; a live set by the Canadian Lunice; performances by Hip Hop group Pac Div and Soul singer Nick Waterhouse from California, the promising electronic Soul artist Syron from London; the 17-year old super talent Joey Bada$ from NYC; the French Soul singer Monsieur Nov; internet sensation Hopsin from LA; Bass/Trap producer ELOQ from Copenhagen; raw Soul giants The Excitements from Barcelona, Dubstep formation Modestep from London, Georgia Ann Muldrow and Dudley Perkins from LA; popular Dutch acts such as Full Crate & Mar, Dope D.O.D., Hef, HydroBoyz and many more.
4. VISIT EXCLUSIVE PANELS AND KEYNOTES ON THE GROUND-BREAKING ROLE OF JAMAICA IN INTERNATIONAL POP CULTURE.
This year, Buma Rotterdam Beats focusses specifically on the crucial role the Jamaican music scene has played in international pop culture for over fifty years. The Jamaican government sends state minister for tourism and entertainment, Damion Crawford, to Rotterdam. Professor Mykaell Riley from the university of Westminster and founder of legendary Reggae band Steel Pulse will do the opening speech for Buma Rotterdam Beats and discuss his research on the impact of Caribbean music on the British music scene. Pioneer Cleveland 'Clevie' Browne, who has worked with Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Shabba Ranks and Mr Vegas, played a crucial part in the transition from analog to digital riddims in Jamaica which he will share in a Q&A and production masterclass. Also BBC 1Xtra's Robbo Ranx and DJ Waxfiend, responsible for the Dutch Jamrock events, will talk about the musical evolution of Jamaican styles and the rise of Bass culture.
5. DISCOVER THE LATEST BUSINESS TRENDS IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.
The day program will focus primarily on the latest developments in the international music industry. Jon Cohen, founder of The Fader magazine and partner of Cornerstone, the New York-based creative marketing agency responsible for Grammy award nominated track 'Better Than I've Ever Been' featuring Kanye West, Nas, KRS-One, Rakim, DJ Premier and Rick Rubin celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Nike Air Force One and the Converse campaign single 'My Drive Thru' by The Strokes, Santigold, and Pharrell (closely affiliated to Cornerstone as well) will give an exclusive presentation on connecting brands with music effectively and credibly. British DJ Elijah and founder of the Butterz label will discuss the rise and importance of the 'open source' record labels in London. David Adams (Soundcloud), Vincent Reinders (22tracks) and Femi Edmund Adeyemi (NTS Radio) will share some exclusive insight into their digital activities and leading press The Fader, XXL, The Guardian and the biggest UK youth broadcaster SBTV will sit down in a panel to discuss music and media.
6. LEARN TRICKS FOR IN THE STUDIO FROM THE MASTERS.
On Saturday the 17th of November, Buma Rotterdam Beats presents Next Beats in which an array of some of the biggest names will step up and provide the audience with the latest tips and tricks of the trade. The legendary Roger Linn, who invented the MPC machine responsible for much of the sounds in electronic music both in Hip Hop and Dance music, will do a Q&A and perform a hands-on masterclass. Producer Om'Mas Keith, who worked on Watch The Throne with Jay-Z and Kanye West and Frank Ocean's Channel Orange will host a masterclass on vocal recording. Jamaican digital riddim pioneer Cleveland 'Clevie' Browne will conduct a production masterclass and AKAI will host its own room demonstrating the latest equipment in detail. There will also be special workshops in which influential Dutch producers such as Boaz v/d Beatz and Soulsearchin' will demonstrate how to build a production from the ground up.
7. MEET AGENTS, BOOKERS, FESTIVAL ORGANIZERS AND OTHER KEY FIGURES FROM THE LIVE CIRCUIT.
Buma Rotterdam Beats provides the perfect place for artists, managers and key players from the European live circuit to network. Representatives of Dour, Exit, Outlook, Soundwave, Dimensions, Amsterdam Dance Event, HipHopKemp, Appelsap and Cause will be present, as will bookers and agents from Live Nation, Elastic Artists, Coda, Subotage Entertainment, New Bohemia, Friendly Fire, Topbillin', Grey Men, Missin' Link and Greenhouse and a considerable delegation of pop stage programmers from all over Europe.

During the festival program, Buma Rotterdam Beats will present the Dutch cream of the crop. Established names such as Full Crate & Mar, Hef, HydroBoyz, Sjaak and Kraantje Pappie will perform alongside ground-breaking live acts such as SKIP&DIE and Dope D.O.D. Leading DJs in various genres will play at the many different festival parties. The conference will also provide a significant platform for up-and-coming artists to showcase their talent and Dutch acts such as Fresku, Nobody Beats The Drum and Mr Polska will share their career stories during the conference.

Dutch rapper Deams, who has worked with De La Soul, Gangstarr, Ice-T and Big Daddy Kane, and his team will launch one of the first Hip Hop websites in China, Dutch MC Hef will launch his highly anticipated second release Papierwerk; Hip Hop blog Puna will preview their documentary on Dutch Hip Hop. Rotterdam-based NoizBoiz will premier their documentary on Dutch Grime and local Hip Hop entrepreneur Mike Redman will present his book on the art of sampling.
