REVIEW: Passenger 10 feat. Anissa Damali - The Mage out on Enormous Deep

1-Original mix
2-Club edit
3-Croatia Squad remix
4-Calippo remix

For the first single out of Passenger 10's album 'Blue Harbour' we chose a pearl that just had to be remixed and re-released as a stand alone single. 'The Mage' is a perfect treatment to the current deep house movement. With the great vocal performance of brazilian Anissa Damali, this song hives its own uniqueness.

From an industrial like sounding crescendo to an orchestral string section, followed by a classic early 90s drop, 'The Mage' offers a wide variety of different electronic music genres in one track, but without loosing the spirit of a danceable 4/4 deep house tune.

We're proud we were able to hire two of our favorite inhouse artists on remix duties. First remix comes from 'Croatia Squad', who draw their mix in a darker and clubbier corner, but keeping the string and vocal section in the main breakdowns. Second remix has been done by newcomer act 'Calippo'. This mix shows a more classic deep house side in his interpretation. Square bass lines on top of a swinging beat loop, filtered stabs swelling up from time to time, glitchy vocal cuts and some rough synth structures keeps this building standing on its very own feet. Youngster 'Calippo' proves with his amazing remix once again why he's hailed as one of the most talented producers of our time.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The superb producer Passenger 10 or  Chris Reece presents his deeper side with the magical deep tech house anthem  The Mage featuring the vocal talent of  Anissa Damali. The original mix is a beautiful dreamy excursion into the unknown colourful world of beautiful and soothing melodies and deep tech house grooves that takes a whole new meaning with the addition of the very unique and so classy vocal by Anissa Damali The club edit is a cool tighter alternative to the original version. Croatia Squad version is even darkier groovier late night affair with minimal chunky beats and playful wonky basslines. Chopped vocal parts here and there and melodramatic melodies work together perfectly to add character and personality in your set. Lastly Calippo remix follows the deep and highly atmospheric tech house sound that has references to the techno sound of Detroit. Simple is beautiful for sure. If you like a late night dark and emotional track you will adore this beauty. Love IT!
