Dimitri Kechagias review: You dont have to be a fanatic of the bass scene to appreciate the fantastic new EP by Knightfreak called Princess Mononoke's Moon Rave EP on Rub A Duck part of Black Hole recordings. You better press play and let the combination of sounds and styles take you on a real trippy journey. This EP that is destined to climb at the top of the relevant charts includes 3 original tracks and 2 additional remixes. First of all is the top banger Rave Safe. It contains traces of old school rave anthems, drum n bass and dubstep. It has great atmosphere with rave style sirens combined with electronic style melodies. Second is the ultra cool Princess Mononoke that is drum n bass with funky groovy riffs and an excellent dark male spoken vocal sample that will cause fear and make the proceedings more cinematic, dark and sinister of course. New Moon is the slower groovier experimental lounge n bass track that can easily become part of the well known Cafe del Mar compilation. The very clever Princess Mononoke returns with a brilliant Drumstep Remix that combines drum n bass liquid styles basslines with the rougher wonkier ones of the dubstep. Last but not least the well known artist of Rub A Duck, Hectic put his naughty hands on Rave Safe and goes for a slower version that is distorted, stretched and it sounds like listening the original track under the influence of alcohol. Let the Knightfreak take you for a ride on the Wild Side of bass music. Check it out!
