Last night, at the DJ Mag
Top 100 awards party, the results of the annual popularity poll were announced,
revealing that 17 of Armada Music’s DJ’s are featured in the Top 100. Topping
the list for a historic fifth time and claiming back the 1st place for the
first time in history, is Armin van Buuren. With 5 DJ’s in the Top 25 and many
new talents making their debut on the list, the Dutch record company looks back
on a successful year.
Armin van Buuren was voted #1 in 2007, 2008, 2009 and
2010, and after one year of lending the crown to David Guetta, Armin van Buuren
got it back in 2012. But there’s also other Armada DJ’s that have made a
remarkable rise this year. Dash Berlin, who’s still rising in
popularity, has now claimed #7 on the DJ Mag Top 100. Markus Schulz
was voted ‘America’s Best DJ’ by DJ Times Magazine a few weeks ago and now
takes in #13 in the popularity poll of DJ Mag. Egyptian duo Aly & Fila
went up one spot, grabbing hold of #19.
But the biggest surprises
this year, are the new talents. W&W rose from 36 to #25 this year, Orjan
Nilsen went up 17 places, rising to #32. Tenishia have made the
biggest rise of the Armada DJ’s, climbing 41(!) places to #50. Young talents Omnia
and Shogun, both gaining ground in the trance scene, respectively take
charge of #58 and #68. Australia’s tyDi grabs hold of #71 while upcoming
producer & DJ Andrew Rayel surprises everyone with a #77 position.
Youngsters Heatbeat, Buenos Aires locals, make a brand new entry at
number 81.
John
O’Callaghan, the number one DJ and producer of Ireland, takes a
worldwide stand at #55 while living legend Paul Oakenfold remains at
#69. Hungarian duo Myon & Shane 54, who were the first Hungarian
DJ’s to enter the DJ Mag in 2009, now made it to #80. Last but not least, Roger
Shah grabs #84 and Andy Moor claims #87!
