REVIEW: Nifra - Dark Harbour & Ransvik out on Coldharbour/Armada Music

1.Dark Harbour (Original Mix)
2.Ransvik (Original Mix)

Proving on a consistent basis that great female DJs should receive as much attention as their male counterparts, Slovakia’s Nifra proudly returns to her Coldharbour home, and consequently delivers a devilish anthem in Dark Harbour.

Having made her breakthrough at the age of 19 with Ready, her first Coldharbour release, Nikoleta Frajkorova has steadily built her career, playing alongside the likes of Tiesto in her home country. This year alone, she played a starring role in A State of Trance 550’s pink stage in Den Bosch, and followed that by sharing the limelight with one of her biggest influences, Markus Schulz, at this year’s TopFest in Piestany.

With a string of originals, collaborations and remixes accomplished, her efforts on Dark Harbour wowed the Coldharbour boss at a very early stage; so much in fact that it was earmarked as the first definite inclusion for his Los Angeles ’12 project at the beginning of the year.

A highlight of Markus’ sets throughout the year and a Global Selection favorite on Global DJ Broadcast, Dark Harbour is perfect material for the live setting, with that aggressively moody bassline instantly identifiable. B-sde Ransvik is produced in similar vein, and therefore provides the DJ with more options in their sets.

One of the leading flag carriers for new female talent in the dance industry, Coldharbour is proud to present Nifra’s latest efforts.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Coldharbour is one of the labels that have changed the sound of trance as we know it today. The highly influential label of Markus Schulz adds deepness and darkness in the trance genre and in that way trance becomes moodier and ready for Big Room action. The latest release is definitely one of the finest summer highlights by the delicate hands of Nifra who seems to be ready to win the world and dominate the dancefloors with her sounds. Dark Harbour is fast full on affair with haunting deep basslines, great percussion, and progressive beats that keep the hands clapping and the bodies marching on the big summer festivals. The breakdown is full of atmosphere like being in a harbour near the sea early in the morning with fog everywhere and suddenly that dark and sinister rave style distorted synthy appears slowly to lead the track towards its final part for that fully satisfying hands in the air climax. Ransvik follows the same path but its more stripped down and deep but once again with the same amount of energy.  The stand  out point is that moody electro infused melodic theme that grows inside you and will push you over your limits when will ride upon the manic beats in the massive climax. Two winners in one shinning package. Love IT!
