REVIEW: Daniel Portman - Shabernack on Unreleased Digital/Sirup Music

1 Shabernack (Original Mix)
3 Reconstruct A New Future (Original Mix)
3 Shabernack (Radio Edit)

Just having wrapped up the epic collab EP 'Sampdoria' with Stanley Ross we roll right into the next original EP of DANIEL PORTMAN. It seems like we've been blessed because he has delivered an incredibly strong 2track release once again.

'Shabernack' comes up as another epic club anthem, with staccative stabs and howling wind pads and we've already seen it completely rip up several floors on tour last few weeks. We thought that this was going to be the A-side killer and then 'Reconstruct A New Future' came in which could easily do the same effect in more tech sets. An unusual combination Portman offers in that track, with a filtered but wide bass line, some classy and shaking wood blocks on top that make the beat go round to demask the unique style of DANIEL PORTMAN once again.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Unreleased Digital is one of the hottest and more consistent record labels responsible for the rice of the progressive house scene and with many big anthems in its back catalogue. The brand new Daniel Portman EP is full on energetic progressive house smasher with techy influences on board as well. Driving and ready for peak time use relentless build of its main groove that lead to its  cool breakdown with retro sounding melody and cool vocal samples perfect to raise the tension for the huge  hands in the air climax in its final part . Reconstruct A New Future continues on the same prog tech direction with tribal drum beats and aggressive distorted bassline along with cool percussion. The breakdown is dark and sinister with great vocal sample that says the title of the track and then all the way full on for its powerful and unstoppable climax. This is what i call progressive house! Love it!
