REVIEW: Bowdidge & Taylor - Power Cut out on Mental Asylum records

1-Original mix
2-Indecent Noise remix
3-Estigma remix
4-Directors Cut

After storming the download charts on her debut release, Mental Asylum Records serve up another energy fueled monster via the peak time pairing of Bowdidge & Taylor with the incredible 'Power Cut'!

The Original Mix charges straight out the gates in no nonsense style! Thunderous basslines and floor flexing kick drums provide the no-holds-barred drive to the mix, while the glowing synth leads and high rising melodies promise to light up the crowd in any peak time set - this is BIG!

On remix duties, Mr Mental Asylum himself, Indecent Noise, continues the extra-large theme superbly with his trademark gritty edged melodics and fierce percussive programming to really keep the floor on fire throughout. As ever, maximum pressure is enforced into the breakdown with rippling bass work and lush atmospherics twisting the mix up into full-scale riot effect for the drop ensuring maximum damage!

Further to the package, Estigma is firmly on hand to follow up with a spectacular rework for the uplifting floors! Highly charged atmospheres present throughout, the crowd pleasing chord changes and trance-kissed arp lines glide perfectly against the smoking basslines and big room effects with rapturous results!

Finally, Indecent Noise provides his own 'Director's Cut' edit to the proceedings to round of the release in fine style - don't miss it!

Dimitri Kechagias review:  The second release of Mental Asylum has landed and once again get ready to go out of your head and feel for a while how is to  stay for some hours within the closed doors of a Mental Asylum metaphorically speaking of course. The fantastic duo Bowdidge and Taylor deliver the stunning summer festivals priority anthem Power Cut. The release is packed with 3 additional mixes to widen your choice. The original mix is pure uplifting straight forward as we love it to be with tough drum beats, deep and driving basslines and hi-nrg melodic layers on top. The breakdown is atmospheric to raise those hands in the air but soon the euphoric synths are unleashed to get under your skin and uplift your spirit. The main part is really large as it starts quite techy and in your face but soon turns again into an uplifting monster along with vocal samples to excite the audience even more. Indecent Noise turns the original into a typical Mental Asylum cut. Things are rockier, sharper, raw and absolutely mindblowing. The breakdown will surprise you as it uses some very intelligent I guess from film soundtrack children voices, laughs, awesome synths and after the cool vocal sample Drop The Bass goes for a full on Bass focused climax that will move and groove thousands of clubbers. Creative, inspiring ready for sweaty party nights anthem. Estigma has the responsibility to transform the original into a hands in the air uplifting trancer that is tough and raw but very melodic and euphoric at the same time. Close your eyes and float upon those colourful sounds.  Directors Cut is a superb alternative version that shortens the original and make this more solid and effective. The result is package of beautiful madness. Love iT!
