REVIEW: Chris Metcalfe - Curveball/Monsoon on Subculture/Armada Music

1-Curveball
2-Monsoon

When club land screams for an anthem, UK producer Chris Metcalfe hears their call. This time, he’s doing double duty, with the intricate ‘Curveball’ and ‘Monsoon’.

Making his Subculture label debut in early 2010 through the banging tune of ‘Outback’, has seen Chris Metcalfe grow far beyond the new talent tag. After the mighty ‘Cala Bassa’ and ‘Never Forgotten’, he’s back at energy, melodic twists and trancy soundscapes. ‘Curveball’ is effective, rhythmic and will leave each clubber in awe.

‘Monsoon’ is the brighter, warmer of them two, with a clean build-up, strong melodic works and all the right trance riffs.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The uplifting trance fans can be rest assured that the finest uplifting trance tracks are released on JOC fantastic label Subculture part of the Armada Music empire of labels. Its time for the talented Chris Metcalfe to present his uplifting weapons ready for club domination this summer. Curveball is a straight to the point uplifting trance anthem that follows the basic conventions of the genre with tough drum beats, the usual driving basslines and the finest breakdown that will relax your senses with heavenly style voices and plucky melodies but not for long as you must embrace yourself.   Classic trance style synths will raise the hair from your back and lead the clubbers to the climax when the fantastic melodic themes are carry your spirit away for an unforgettable uplifting ride to the highest levels of solid euphoric trance. The same high quality levels of production apply on Chris second track Monsoon. Magnificent uplifting trancer with balearic melodies, acid tones and hard banging drum beats to keep the heart pulsating along with the BPM's of this euphoric trance beauty. Pure and undiluted trancer with psy trance references for sure that must be played loud and proud this summer. Dont Miss JOC performance along Orjan Nilsen at the Trance Addict stage of Tommorrowland festival in Belgium. Love iT!
