REVIEW: Solarstone - Pure incl MaRLo remix on Black Hole recordings

1. Extended Mix
2. Club Mix
3. MaRLo Remix

Solarstone, a.k.a. Rich Mowatt, presents his new single “Pure” on the Black Hole imprint.

“Pure” is the title track of Solarstone’s new album and the follow up to the previous single featuring Clare Stagg, “The Spell”. With the trance genre dividing and sub-dividing, rather than follow the fragmentation pack, in 2010 Solarstone diverted to record his concept album ‘Touchstone’. Now, two years on, he’s back with his new long-player and a new manifesto, in which he reclaims the word trance music to what it really stands for: music that people simply want to dance to, that takes them to another place and to whom this music is a feeling, a passion and a way of life, without bowing down to the self-appointed style councils that try to tell others what music’s cool and what the latest must-like is.

Providing the perfect launch point for "Pure", from its first propulsive beat to the opening sweep of its atomic synths, the title track of Solarstone’s new album instantly addresses the big rooms. Offering two new mixes of the original including a massive MaRLo remix, the package also contains Solarstone’s own extended mix of the album version. May the real trance DJs stand up to hammer “Pure” in their live sets this coming summer!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Black Hole recordings reveals the 2nd single from Solarstone album Pure that happens to be the title track of the album. Pure is an instrumental trance beauty of the highest variety that showcases loud and proud the amazing abilities that Rich Solarstone has  as an artist away from the formulaic standardised trance projects and he proves once again that his approach to trance is in its Purest and undiluted sense. Pure exemplifies that the roots of trance can be easily found in the works of the modern synthesiser composers such as Jean Michael Jar or Vangelis. Their unforgettable epic or emotional themes can be seen as the base of trance as an EDM genre.  In the same highly artistic way Solarstone treats this single and his Extended remix is a driving journey into space that planets or galaxies pass by while we navigate through the  endless and dark unfinished spaceExtended mix moves in the progressive trance road while the Club mix moves to the uplifting trance territory. Don't expect huge drops and cheesy synthy leads rather be prepared to enjoy Pure trance sounds. Pure is great to listen at home, while you drive your car or in the club when the clubbers don't demand immediate gratification but rather they want to guide them in a journey. Of course the Black Hole recordings team added on the package the Big Room version by the Dutch super power dj and producer MaRLo who is on great demand at the moment and he added his tech trance beats, raw and electro twisted basslines but with big respect for the original as his break is  focused on the melody and the great synthesiser theme rather than taking the easy approach for example by pitching up the synthy riffs to get instant reactions. Love IT!
