REVIEW: Rick Mitchells & Bas van Essen - Raptor out on Mainstage/Armada

1.Raptor (Original Mix)

Haarlem based producers Rick Mitchells & Bas van Essen rock things out on the Mainstage label. ‘Raptor’ is the perfect blend of all things loud, wild and bursting with energy!

After working together on remixes for W&W, Mark Sixma, these guys felt it was time for something bigger. And bigger it got. As the second release on the recently launched Mainstage Music, W&W invited Dutch promises Rick Mitchells and Bas van Essen to give it a spin.

With ‘Raptor’, the guys reveal a melodic, but maddening electro-infused trancer with – and there’s no other way to put it –  big balls!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Many trance fans were wishing to get more often tunes on the dj style of W&W. Their wish became true as W&W launched along with the Best Global Dance Label Armada Music their own label that represent their sound. Mainstage Music is the label that will deliver the sound that all fans of W & W were looking for. Second release on this quickly rising label is by the superb duo Rick Mitchells & Bas van Essen with their Big Room mindsmasher Raptor. Full on smashing progressive trance beats with techy chunky beats, huge breakdown with large epic synths and classical music melodic theme. The big surprise is revealed when the tough rocking beats return for a very cool middle section that is nu rave/electro house influenced. After a very short breakdown the track moves to a hands in air uplifting section with big meaty beats and feel good synths on top. Robotic style vocal anounces Raptor and the maddening banging playful section comes back again for the big outro of his fat cracker. Peak Time Monster size Anthem! Love iT!
