The brand new official video for Kaskade and Skrillex’s juggernaut collaboration “Lick It”, released back in October 2011, is finally upon us! Complete with a hefty remix package (out now on Ultra Records) from some of the biggest-hitters to match, Kaskade continues to demonstrate his A&R excellence and prowess as he breathes fresh life into an already exquisite release.
Taken from Kaskade’s critically acclaimed long player ‘Fire & Ice’, “Lick It” serves up a growling slice of electro-infused Skrillex gold, with the strongest sense of musicality and melody that underpins each and every Kaskade production – a stunning record from two of the most in-demand producers on the planet.
Ryan explained: “Collaborating with Skrillex for the track and video of ‘Lick It’ was one of the more unique opportunities I had when recording Fire & Ice,” said Kaskade. “Skrillex and I have different styles but that is part of what made it fun. I like doing the unexpected and this track and video is something truly distinctive.”
The ever eclectic three-track remix package, featuring unique re-licks from rising dubstep star Datsik, French house maestro Norman Doray and Italy’s very own Alex Kenji is available to buy now from iTunes.
Donned by The New York Times as the “new face of electronic dance music,” Kaskade recently wowed the EDM world with his brand new stage set up at California’s legendary Coachella festival, headlining the iconic Sahara tent on Saturday night to a truly immense reception. Continuing from this he’s just announced that this summer he’ll be taking on his biggest ever tour, with more than 50 North American shows across venues of all sizes; from ballrooms and theatres to arenas and festivals. The initial 35 dates announced for the “Freaks of Nature” Summer 2012 Tour will begin on May 25!
With other recent news that he will be performing at the globally-renowned Lollapalooza fest in August at Grant Park in Chicago and a handful of high profile European tour dates, 2012 is shaping up to be quite the year for Ryan.
