REVIEW: Ville Lope and Marko Kantola - Lonely Ranger out on Subtraxx

1 Lonely Ranger - Original Mix
2 Lonely Ranger - Jason Seizures Remix
3 Lonely Ranger - Airwave Remix

2012 brings a collaboration between Subtraxx label manager Ville Lope and Marko Kantola, making a huge comeback. Marko and his earlier project White Stars releases were frequently spotted in the playlists and compilations of big names like Armin Van Buuren and Markus Schulz.

Lope and Kantola brings the dance floor just what you can expect from these two talented Finns. Big bass lines, solid grooves and huge melodies. Lonely Ranger is only the first chapter in new success story.

The original track introduces a catchy percussive loop, big gritty baseline and great groovy drums.

Jason Seizures can still be thought as a newcomer in the record industry, but with big remix of Alex Kunari featuring Ben Andreas - Taste The Sun on Magik Muzik cant be said to be unheard.

Jasons electro house remix can be dubbed as Complextro - He takes the already big and gritty baseline and makes it completely his own. This track is totally a party track ensured to make the crowds bounce like madmen. Yes, there is also a dub step breakdown in this one.

Airwaves insight to Lonely Ranger strips down the track - his true trance approach is almost minimalistic compared to the complexity and melodies of the original. If you are into laid back progressive grooves and trance of the nineties, this is a safe bet. Airwave is again on fire.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Subtraxx is one of the finest and most consistent progressive trance labels delivering quality tracks that will be considered as classics in the years to come. The brand new release is the return of the label head Ville Lope on the label along with Marko Kantola for the brilliant Lonely Ranger that comes in 3 distinctive flavors. First of all is the original version that will blow your socks off without second thought. In my opinion this track has an old school feel that I really like as it stays in a way faithful to the principles of the roots of trance music. Blissful hypnotic progressive trance with chunky tribalesque beats and that main melody that brings in my mind sounds from Oliver Lieb's project LSG. The breakdown is cinematic as we love it to be and take our mind in many imaginary places. It has the potential to touch you under your skin  and slowly uplift your spirit. The package continues with the excellent remix by Airwave. His remix is deep progressive trance with tough beats, acid basslines and psy trance influences as well. Full of atmosphere and emotions Laurent Veronezz excite us once again with a version that sounds  like a sacred mysterious journey that a Lonely Ranger is taking through civilisations that human evolution has destroyed.  Last but least the big room electro house meets epic Swedish prog house djs will find their favourite version as well as Jason Seizures transforms the original into a massive banger that will raise the roof on any club that will be played in the coming months. Bouncy fat beats with dubstep influences as well will drive you wild and will send you shivers as well when that characteristic trancy riff will appear. Highly recommended! Love it!
