REVIEW: Smart Apes - Phobia incl. JPL remix out on Black Hole

1. Original
2. JPL Remix

Smart Apes present their latest single on the Black Hole imprint, entitled “Phobia”.
Smart Apes (Aquile, TeeB and DJ Ira) have been active in the industry for quite some time, operating from Ukraine, but already with a great reputation all over the world. Their first track “Smile” put their name on the map and was supported by Tiesto, Sander van Doorn, Cosmic Gate and many more. Also their remix of Ton TB’s “Headrush” was played by Armin van Buuren in his radio show A State Of Trance. Now their new track “Phobia” only confirms that the boys have a promising future in EDM ahead of them.

The package offers both the original version and a superb remix by JPL. Driving, energetic, with crisp synth and string programming, “Phobia” will be the ultimate cure for those who suffer from dance floor phobia!

Dimitri Kechagias review: The quality trance project is back. The fantastic Smart Apes return with a big bang on Black Hole this time with an impressive instrumental megablaster that will be at the top of djs list in the coming weeks. As always Smart Apes well known for the deep basslines and the mesmerising melodies deliver the fruits with the interestingly entitled Phobia. Tougher and rockier with tech trance influences as well Smart Apes service a big room trance anthem. Powerful theme that is so driving and exciting that will be too hard to resist and is destined to drive you wild and out of your head. Lovely breakdown with swirling synths and that huge rave style riff ready made for big stadiums. Quality production from start to finish! JPL who is simply one of the finest and most innovative trance producers transform the tech trance original into a massive Balearic trance beauty with tribal beats and magnificent breakdown that he utilise the main theme in the best possible way in order to convey his vision of the track. When the ultra large tornado or tsunami style synthy riff will be unleashed in the breakdown better be ready for something really large to happen on your dancefloor! It reminds me classic trance tracks from the 90's. I got that feeling that Trance is striking back with vengeance. Phobia Rock IT! Love iT!
