REVIEW: Eric van Kleef ft. Stanford - Wanna Funk out on Selekted Music

1-Original mix
2-Orson Welsh mix
3-Melvin Reese mix

After having delivered remixes for Lock n Load – Blow Ya Mind (Selekted Music - # 1 SlamFM Top 30), Asino Di Medico – In My Mind (Be Yourself Music) and Johan Gielen’s I’m Lonely (Blackhole Recordings) amongst others, the patron of Dutch dance radio returns to Selekted Music with a steamy disco corker. Dutch radio host Eric van Kleef collaborates with vocalist Stanford - Lucien Foort's brother - on this wicked cover of 70’s evergreen Do You Wanna Funk by Sylvester.

It’s safe to say that next to hosting his widely popular weekly dance radio show Clubbin on Dutch broadcaster SlamFM, Eric van Kleef knows his way around studio equipment as well. Remixes are presented by Orson Welsh giving the tune an uplifting peak time disco vibe, and Melvin Reese who adds a stomping club groove.

Preview - Eric van Kleef ft Stanford - Wanna Funk by Eric van Kleef
Dimitri Kechagias review: Selekted Music continues its mission to make us dance under the same groove and this time Eric van Kleef service a brand new version of the Sylvester disco classic Do You Wanna Funk. Erik goes for a mixture of progressive house and disco and the result is extremely danceable. Groovy, sexy and pleasurable perfectly made for the peak time moment of any dj set. The remixes deliver different points of view that sound like superb additions to the original.  Orson Welsh for his feel good and very uplifting version applies big chunks  of disco house samples along with touches of retro tech house. Very effective breakdown with siren like sounds will drive you out of control. Powerful and full on is the version that particularly girls will adore to shake their body  and make the hungry for love boys go wild. Last but not least the very talented Melvin Reese service a club house version that sounds quite futuristic with electro house and space funk elements. It's very unique and highly sophisticated version that deserves your whole hearted support! I wanna Funk Non Stop, who doesn't  I wonder?? Love It!
