First State is kick-starting the year stronger than ever with the release of 'Reloaded', a very fitting title not only for the duo but also for a refreshingly balanced blend of sound and energy that is poised to burn up the charts in the seasons to come.
The track begins with an upbeat, bass rich intro, getting heads bouncing from the get-go. Then the lead slides right in, slightly distorted and serving as the perfect beginning to a very house-like build up. After a few measures, the percs get brought back, first a thumping bass and soon after coming in strong with the snares right before the first drop. The bassline comes in nice and crunchy adding the right balance of leads to the higher frequencies when entering the next build-up. Throughout the next few measures the bassline is taken through its progressions in the background, not fading away but never overpowering to the rest of the sounds. The same can be said about the leads themselves, progressive, energetic and in your face yet always complementing the full package. This cohesiveness is a prime example of the very well balanced production skills these guys have.
Whether you call it progressive, or house or even by some other name, one thing is certain: The richness and depth of the sound that First State is bringing out of the starting gate for this year is one that is unique, one that is chock full of energy and one that is 'Cocked, Locked, and ready to rock!'
Dimitri Kechagias review: The always impressive First State that continously delivers Big Smashing Tunes is about to release his brand new anthem in his own label First State Music called Reloaded. Sander once again will rock the clubs as he is very able to compose superb tracks that are magically ready made to become the big anthem in the coming weeks. Reloaded includes all the elements that currently seems to tear up the big rooms. Tough rocking beats, powerful driving electro house basslines, swirling sounds that will drive mad your listeners and huge synthy riffs on that BIG ROOM epic house style that is very current at the moment. If First State previously was known for his more progressive trance sounds get ready to get indulged and infected from his new style that is perfectly tuned with what the audience asks for at the moment. Bouncy and adrenaline charging electro not for the weak hearted for sure. It deserves to get extra large! Love It!
