The track “Release Me” by Swedish Indie-pop band Oh Laura was initially available on their 2007 debut album entitled “A Song Inside My Head, A Demon In My Bed”. After the car brand Saab used the song in one of their commercials, things went fast for Oh Laura. The commercial circulated in Sweden, Norway, Poland, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, France and the United Kingdom. "Release Me", peaked at #5 on Swedish music charts, the band won the Grand Prix at the International Sopot Festival on August 23, 2008 in Sopot, Poland and the single was mentioned certified platinum by the Swedish IFPI in 2007.
Once “Release Me” skyrocketed into the charts, various bootlegs surfaced and countless DJs hammered the track for weeks in their live sets. And now finally those versions are all officially available. The Attic is the pop-house duo collaboration of songwriters and producers Michael Feiner and Eric Amarillo. They have remixed other tracks like "Sauna" by Stonebox, which got played heavily by the big DJs. Swedish television TV4 took great interest in The Attic and their song "I Just Can't Help It", wanting it to be the theme song of TV-show Fort Boyard.
The Attic’s original version of “Release Me” is now available in the remix versions produced by Kevin Sunray, Dr Kucho and Pulser, who all reworked the song in its entirety and tailored it for today’s dancefloors.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Release Me is such a beautiful and mesmerizing track with a vocal by Oh Laura that you know that has the gold touch to become a hit. I'm so glad that Songbird delivers to the club masses the superb remix package that is already heavily supported by many djs around the world. Dr Kucho version is a deep driving progressive house version with tribal and with some indie rock edge as well. Its dreamy, is creamy and its pure class. The Greek Dj and producer Kevin Sunray recreates the magical track into his own sound starting quite minimal and then going for a driving progressive house version with uplifting synths and superb breakdown that lovely electronic synths and warm strings work as the perfect soundbed for the female vocal to shine and break some hearts as well. Last but not least the superb dj and producer Pulser takes the progressive trance route and delivers my favourite remix on the package. Pulser is a trusted force in trance for years and his remix is simply mind blowing and typical of his years of experience in the scene. His progressive trance beats and lovely little melodic riffs are building the tension toward the superb breakdown. Huge synthy riffs will offer the chance to the light jockey to make his own tricks and the fantastic vocals to stand out and even recall that Tiesto remix of Delerium - Silence. When the beat comes back Pulser pushes his version towards the electro trance direction with twists and turns and the huge trance riff on top that will keep the hands on the air for long. Massive release on Songbird that always provides music that we can trust. Love It!
