REVIEW: Andrew Bayer & Matt Lange ft. Kerry Leva - In And Out Of Phase

Two of the most innovative producers on our labels, Andrew Bayer and Matt Lange collaborate - with a little help from Kerry Leva - on the intricate progressive trance anthem "In And Out Of Phase".

A stand-out track on Above & Beyond's "Anjunabeats Volume 9", the Club Edit of "In And Out Of Phase" combines a blissful bubbling groove, stirring string sections and Leva's angelic, otherworldly vocals to impressive effect.

Available for the first time, the Original Mix adds a string-laden breakbeat and bass section and an even more epic arrangement.

On the remixes, the currently unstoppable Norin & Rad follow their recent debut Anjunabeats single "Bloom" with an uplifting, riff based big room rework - already a firm fixture in Above & Beyond's sets.

Both huge fans of Bayer and Lange's obsessively detailed production work, drum & bass heavyweights Calyx & TeeBee inject the original's ethereal melodies with rampaging breakbeats and guttural bass growls.


Dimitri Kechagias review: Sometimes you feel that words are limiting the greatness of music compositions when it comes to description and in our case we deal with a stunning absolutely mind blowing co-production between Andrew Bayer & Matt Lange along with the vocal input by Kerry Leva. In And Out Of Phase is a great example of high quality electronica music that is perfect for the clubfloors as well. The two talented and already distinguished producers composed a warm melodic progressive house anthem with strong trance influences as well. The original version is an epic 10 minutes musical piece that combines warm beats, great percussion and the mindblowing orchestral classical music part in the breakdown that will bring in your mind thousands of mental pictures and even some tears too. Of course there is a very clever breaks part as well that will travel your mind in many unknown and mysterious worlds. Club Edit is a shorter rendition of the original mix without that breaks part and ready made for continuous use and abuse on the dancefloor. Norin & Rad from their side service their usual very unique and tasty mixture of dirty electro trance basslines, techy twists and melodic turns that will drive any crowd into frenzy. Small breakdown at the beginning for the classical theme to be revealed and then full on pumpin beats until to land safely on the big breakdown. Just watch what will happen when Kerry Leva vocals "Nah nah nah" appear and the track goes towards the big euphoric climax. Last but not least Calyx & TeeBee compose a magnificent highly atmospheric spacey drum n bass remix that creatively alters the original samples and wins your admiration straight away. Anjunabeats at its very best!
