REVIEW: V.A. - Markus Schulz pres.Coldharbour Selections Part 27

1.Mario Hammer feat. Asheni - Life Before the Earthquake (Dennis Sheperd Remix)
2.Danilo Ercole - Water That Birds Don't Drink (Original Mix)
3.Jessus - Stereophonic (Original Mix)

It’s a tradition that all followers of Coldharbour Recordings look forward to, as Markus Schulz presents the latest instalment of his Coldharbour Selections series - three tracks from three different artists, and all which have made an impact on his Global DJ Broadcast radio show and beyond.

First up is the beautiful Life Before the Earthquake by German Mario Hammer. Featuring the vocals of Asheni, the original breakbeat version quickly became one of the championed Coldharbour tracks of 2011. And following the release of his debut album, including the impressive Fallen Angel, fellow countryman Dennis Sheperd takes the mantle and provides a more traditional 4/4 trance take.

South America is given an opportunity to shine through the remaining tracks on offer. First up is a familiar contributor to the label in the form of Brazil’s Danilo Ercole. With tracks such as Harbour and Below the Equator Line (the latter remixed by Basil O’Glue appearing on Prague ’11), he returns with Water That Birds Don’t Drink, fusing his imitable melodies and tech influences to impressive manner once again.

And last but not least, the focus turns to Colombia where Medellin native Jessus makes his Coldharbour debut. Still fondly thought about thanks to his slamming remix of ElSandro’s Style Fusion in early 2010, his Stereophonic production has worked wonders both on GDJB and Markus’ livesets; most notably at the DJ Mag Top 100 Awards Party held at the Passenger Terminal in Amsterdam.

All three tracks look set to attract large amounts of support in the coming weeks. They have already been given their approval by the dedicated Global DJ Broadcast faithful, now they have the chance to blossom throughout the entire trance community.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Markus Schulz can be proud of being one of the finest djs but also most influential producer who manage to make the deep progressive trance sound prominent for the dancefloor. Now he presents another installment of his Coldharbour sampler series with 3 tracks that already got the vote of the punters and the support of the djs. First of all is the vocal beauty by Mario Hammer feat. Asheni - Life Before the Earthquake on Dennis Sheperd Remix. You can expect a big room melodic prog trancer that flows and grows and supports the high quality vocal to shine and from a breakbeat original to transformed it into an anthem. Wishful, melodic, cinematic and overall a pretty special track for sure. Danilo Ercole - Water That Birds Don't Drink (Original Mix): Danilo is a great talent and for this particular track goes for a deep hypnotic track with warm melacholic atmospheres with bubbly beats that flow and grow like the water running wild and free. Lastly the superb Jessus presents his  Stereophonic track. This is the most prominent upfront tech trancer with twisted beats, electroish basslines and swirling melodies that is perfect for the peak time moment of your sets. If you like it big and dirty this is your thing for sure. Great sampler with something ready to please your crowds.
