REVIEW: T4L - Like a Chord out on In Trance We Trust/Black Hole

1. Original
2. Paul Ercossa Remix
3. Progressiver Remix
4. Pascal Nuzzo & Gymmy J Remix

Italian producers T4L present their brand new single on the In Trance We Trust imprint, entitled “Like a Chord”.

With their new single, T4L have opened all the registers for a steady pounding progressive track. “Like a Chord” leans on a nice and fast BPM and features a woofer shredding low sub bass; the perfect backing track for a fierce arrangement full of crisp synths and string sweeps with the appropriate amount of lengthy reverb behind it. The whole production has that lovely, dark and slightly mysterious sound that we know from so many great progressive classics and modern tracks. Played on a superbly EQ’d sound system you can bet your ass on it that the sub bass will roll right through you when you’re on the dance floor enjoying “Like a Chord”. The eighth note melody line in the break lifts the entire track up with a few subtle nods and winks in the direction of trance before it hits the climax and continues from where it took off. A genuinely surprising new T4L single.

The Paul Ercossa remix adds more big room-ish tech trance to the original arrangement, but keeps the progressive all over sound of the single. Pascal Nuzzo and Gymmy J on the other hand decided to rework the entire track into a state of the art, fat techno work of art that breathes the influence of classic techno from Detroit. T4L themselves then finally delivered the Progressiver remix; perfectly shaped for the true, even underground, progressive live sets. “Like a Chord” is what it is: a hit.

Dimitri Kechagias review:  In Trance We Trust is considered as one of the most historic and highly influential trance labels opening always new grounds on what all we call as style Trance. Of course this style has changed a lot and nowadays trance and every other genre is open to influences from other styles like house, electro and techno. The latest offering from T4L from Italy is going to make many people double check the title of the track in case there is something wrong with it. T4L with Like a Chord experiment with the deeper progressive trance style. Definitely its more housier and tech minded than the previous ones but hypnotic and spacey in order to get you on that state of trance. It starts with beautiful sweet intro and then goes for deep groovy driving prog trance meets tech house hybrid. Personally I Love that style cause I always believed that when techno gets some trance influences the result will be perfect for the dancefloor. Also it reminds me the sound of masterminds like Oliver Lieb.  Not the usual trance style so you should think carefully where and when you will drop it. Paul Ercosa tranforms the track completely and he delivers a stunning tech trance rendition with tech trance bubbly beats and great melodies on top. Big melodic breakdown and in the main part distorted riffs creating that clubby feel. If you go for that style Paul has all the goods for you. My favorite version is of course is from Progressiver. This version is a long hypnotic prog trance genre with groovier edges and great floating construction. You close your eyes and just press play. Pure magic for sure. Last but not least Pascal Nuzzo & Gymmy J deliver a deep throbbing techno monster on that dark and viscious style that underground clubs will adore. Its pure quality with all the elements providing a warm and sweaty environment for the clubbers to feel the surprising power of the beat. ITWT opens new grounds in trance.
