Our friends from India, Lost Stories, present their brand new single “Purple Cow” on the Black Hole imprint.
Lost Stories have outdone themselves with this beautiful new track. “Purple Cow” is definitely one that follows all the ingredients to become a trademark ISOS production. Listening to the original, you can hear that the boys took their time to work on a nice and smooth opening intro before they unleash the beats. The elusive vocals that we hear throughout the song add that nice bit of mystery to “Purple Cow”, but it’s especially the initial synth programming on the eighth notes that gives a superb drive to it all. Everyone on the dancefloor will easily consider this to be the climax of the night and you can hear it for yourself while checking out the promo of the original version: the break has an absolutely majestic batch of synths in it. Undeniable hit.
Johan Gielen reworked the original completely and worked with fat pumping beats, driving hi-hats and even more synths on top of it all. His remix overall breathes that lovely feeling of the large events from the mid-nineties and will work perfectly in the big rooms of today. Julius Beat and Olbaid focused on the string driven arrangement of the original and even recorded additional melodylines in an attractive stop-and-go drum program, perfect for the true trance live sets!
Dimitri Kechagias review: Lost Stories are definitely the hottest export from India providing well constructed and truly emotional progressive trance music. Their latest track has a very intresting and surprising title. Purple Cow sounds so cool as its very clever and funny title. The original is a beautiful dreamy prog trancer with very strong main theme and even some great piano riffs that add some housey influences along with chopped sweet female vocal samples. Superb free floating music that you simply close the physical eyes and open your eyes of the soul as it is simply irresistable to dance but to meditate as well. The remix comes from the finest artists. Its so great to see Johan Gielen back at Black Hole providing the powerful banging melodic version. If you love your beats to be fast and furius along with strong work done on the synthy part and even some 90's piano riffs then you will adore this remix done by the legend himself, the always smiling and welcoming Johan Gielen. Last but not least Julius Beat returns with a stunning proglifting version. Playful and original is the kind of mixes that twists and turns and utilizes the main melody of the track in the best possible way along with those really nice female voice samples. On top some pizzicato type of melody along with electroish basslines and the result is stunning. You can not miss this beauty! I just wonder if that Purple Cow makes Purple Milk as well.
