REVIEW:Soulmate - The Meeting EP out on Inkfish

Soulmate - The Meeting (Original Mix)
Soulmate - Moonray (Original Mix)
Soulmate - Moonbow (Original Mix)

Désirée Paris previous outings on Inkfish, under the moniker Chronophone, have been gaining praise from the likes of Laurent Garnier and Psycatron, so if you like dubby melodic techno, this is for you.

This time Désirée teams up with long time friend Lady Jo under the name Soulmate. They are childhood friends and made their pilgrimage trip to the techno island Ibiza together, curious about the musical legends surrounding the balearics.

At the sunset at Café del Mar they made a promise to one day form a production team together. That day is here now.

The project Soulmate is a tribute to their friendship.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Inkfish continues to breakdown boundaries and open the doors of music bizz to many worthwhile  projects like Soulmate. The EP ready to be unleashed in the technosphere is really brilliant, highly elaborated and really sophisticated futuristic form of techno. It has melodic edge that adds to it a deep trance flavor in my opinion. The Meeting is deep, minimal but with balearic melody and rthythm for sure. It can start the proceedings in a techno set in the best possible way. Moonray is highly cinematic, hypnotic and rich in sound textures and it includes  psy trance influences with tribalish beats, indian ethnic samples and distant choped vocals too. All the elements coming together to form a wholesome listening experience. Moonbow is deeper following the detroit dictum of techno orientation  with melodic layers, twisted reversed samples and once again a highly complex composition.  Essential for quality EDM seekers.
