REVIEW:Janeiro & Sovt - Dreams Of The Sea out on Solaris

 1-Original mix
2-Peter Liu Remix
3-Ozo Effy Remix
4-Sovt Remix

Taken from Solarstone's Electronic Architecture 2, 'Dreams of the Sea' is a beautiful guitar-tinged atmospheric balearic track from these two Russian producers. The Original Mix has echoes of Jam & Spoon's 'Odyssey To Anyoona' with it's use of chugging percussion loops, light layers of synths and a haunting vocal sample refrain. The key ingredient in this mix is the gorgeous sun-drenched guitar hook, you can see why Solarstone snapped it up for the EA2 album. Peter Liu provides the main room trance mix, again keeping things on the White Island Hooj Choons sounding tip, Peter injects the track with some hypnotic rhythms and bassline, fattens up the pads and riffs and turns 'Dreams of the Sea' into a sweaty pure trance record for those long dark club nights - it is euphoric trance in the purest sense, none of that overblown rubbish here, just intense understated emotional trance music. Ozo Effy is another EA2 luminary, his mix keeps things very balearic and chilled out with his ethnic instrumentation constructed breakdown, and a nice additional mix from Sovt completes this package.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Janeiro & Sovt  presents a beautiful balearic trancer that is characterized from its tight production and its impressive summery atmosphere. Its not an easy task to produce a track that brings contrasting overload of emotions and mental images to the listener. Dreams of the sea its definitely more  than an aural experience. The balearic guitar riff is  melancholic and wishful perfect to close your eyes and dance a long with it by imagining that you swim and dance in the deep blue sea. The remix package is the finest outhere and I bet will be hard for you to choose your favorite. Peter Liu version is going towards the uplifting trance route, travelling and soothing at the same time will be the perfect moment in your set to take by the hand your audience and guide them in the mysteries of the sea. Ozo Effy version follows the more proglifting way with bubbly progressive beats and great synths along with detailed sound design to give to the listener the maximum of that top notch guitar riff. Last but not Sovt version is the high energy epic trance alternative that you were asking for. Full on without delays is involving and straight to the point of course. Massive release to keep some summer moments in the winter. If you look at your summer photos while you listen to it I'm sure that you will recreate those moments. Rich "Solarstone" name is a guarantee force for sure.
