Dj/Artist Name: Basil O'Glue
Dimitri: Are you going to remember 2010 as a good and positive year for the progress of electronic dance music or as one of the worst? For instance, have you found many good tracks, new ideas, new talented producers and newborn labels that have excite you and make you feel more addicted with your favorite music?
Basil O'Glue: There have been some good productions and some great new artists (progressive & trance) But in my opinion, after the great trance era from 2000 to 2005
we see much less as we expect to see from dj's and producers. As a listener would say that 2010 was not bad, but not also good. Regarding the high number of producers and labels, you might get the impression that today quantity has a bigger importance than quality.
Dimitri: Is it possible to list for us your personal accomplishments music wise that you achieved during 2010 and maybe you consider this year as one of your best helping you to go a step forward in your career?
Basil O'Glue: Well, for me 2010 was a good year. 18 originals & remixes were released at 6 different labels I guess my favorite remix in 2010 was my version for for Grube & Hovsepian - Conviction, that was supported by many dj's. I really enjoyed doing this remix, I had a great time.
About originals Basil O'Glue - Grey Scales (The Moonwalkers Remix) had great feedback and supported by Ferry Corsten on his radio show
Basil O'Glue - Invidia did well, with nice feedback and feature on M.I.K.E's digital version of his latest compilation
Also my website has launched, where you can find all the info you need about my music, and
finally my radioshow, called "Momentum" is running now for the second year at www.pure.fm (every 4th Friday 21:00 GMT trance channel) where you can listen first my latest productions
Dimitri: THE A to Z of the Best of the Year 2010. Please list for us your best of 2010 please always with a small comment to explain the reason why you choose the particular answer.
a)Best Full Release of the year(that means that you think that the original and the remix package was the most appropriate for it)
Basil O'Glue: Rex Mundi - Opera Of Northern Ocean (Coldharbour) Huge original mix, fantastic sounds, great atmosphaere. The remix is also very very good
b)Your personal Full release of the year(if you had any releases of course and give us the kind of feedback you get for it)
Basil O'Glue: I had a few original mixes this year with some great remixes (like the Moonwalkers, Timo Juuti and others) but my favorite was Basil O'Glue - Invidia (original + Grube & Hovsepian remix) (Spinnin') It was supported by a lot of great dj's, such as, Judge Jules, Gareth Emery, M.I.K.E, Lange, Dave Pearce, Andy Moor, Alex Morph and others,
The remix was included on M.I.K.E's compilation NYC Nights (Armada) (digital version)
The original mix was included on Trance Essentials Part 15 (vinyl) (Spinnin')and finally original mix reached #60 on beatport's trance genre.
c)Best Single track of the year(only original versions)
Basil O'Glue: Sander Van Doorn pres. Purple Haze - Hymn 2.0 (Spinnin') or Skytech - Comet (Coldharbour) both equally as the top tracks of the year in my opinion

i)Best Remixer of the year on personal or others peoples tracks
Basil O'Glue: The Moonwalkers (Greek Duo Christopher Vassilakis & John Katehis) did a great remix for Basil O'Glue - Grey Scales. I also like almost all Gai Barone's remixes but again, Arty is the remixer of the year with remixes on tracks like Cosmic Gate - F.A.V, D-Mad - She Gave Happiness, Reverse - Absolute Reality and others
j)Best Established Label of the year
Basil O'Glue: Spinnin' (and especially Oxygen, The reason that I pick this sublabel is not that I have 2 releases there, but because in my opinion were released fantastic tracks during 2010)

Basil O'Glue: I didnt dj a lot in 2010, so I don’t have any.
q Best country that you performed this year

Basil O'Glue: Unfortunately, I haven't been at an open air festival this year
s) Best hobby or other activity for 2010(game/movie/book/going to gym to keep fit or any other hobby )
Basil O'Glue: I am a photographer and I really like my job. I like watching nice movies and cooking is good as well! But when you love something so much (music), you can't find a lot of time for other activities
t) Best radio show of the year and Best radio station that you always check out(fm or online)preferably that plays the kind of your music

Basil O'Glue: I am relatively a new producer, some people support my work and I really appreciate it. I would like to thank them all. I have some fans from Czech Republic, and I think I owe that to Tomas Novotny who featured many of my tracks at http://www.insound.eu/
Dimitri: Can you please let us know your plans for 2011 that your fans should look out for from you?
Basil O'Glue: Till now (December 2010) I have 7 remixes waiting a release at labels such as: Coldharbour, Morphosis Records, Mistique Music, Echelon.
All these will be released at the first months of 2011. Of course I will have some originals as well (works in progress)
2011 will be definitely better that 2010 one (not 2010 was bad, but I feel that I am always learning new things, and i am developing from day to day)
Dimitri: On the other side are the worst things of the year. Is it possible to tell us the track or album that you believe is the worst of the year and why?
Basil O'Glue: I don’t want to be rude, but if I really have to pick the worst album or track of 2010, it would be something from Tiesto. I loved his music so much, that he made me hate his new style, and for sure, I am not the only one.
Dimitri: Please give us your wishes for 2011 and your small piece of advice for anyone that reads this interview and love to get into music production or djing.
Basil O'Glue: I started producing some years ago, the reason I did this, was that i wanted to be part of the trance family if you will. My advice is not to under- or overestimate yourself and what you can do. In addition, always listen to the more experienced.
Wishing everybody a peacefull 2011!
