REVIEW: Various Artists - Explorations 02 out on Anjunadeep

Anjunadeep present the second EP in the newly founded ‘Explorations’ series showcasing four fresh faces to the label in Amateur Dance, Luttrell, Tontario and Gacha Bakradze.

Opening the EP, upcoming Melbourne based producer, Amateur Dance, with ‘You Give Me Butterflies’; making his Anjunadeep debut earlier this year with a highly rated remix of Way Out West’s ‘Tuesday Maybe’.

Next up, Luttrell ‘Away', giving a taste of his first solo project on the label while taking a moment from notable Stateside success as part of California duo The M Machine.

Tontario, a young Finnish producer from Helsinki, has been making waves in recent months in the blog world with his signature melodic sound, as shown on ‘Late’.

Rounding off the EP with ‘Girl’, talented Georgian producer Gacha Bakradze. While releasing under three different aliases, Gacha has built an impressive back catalogue with albums on the iconic Apollo Records and most recently a well received EP on Andre Lodemann’s Best Works Recs with support from BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Anjunadeep presents another successful instalment of the critically acclaimed Explorations series that introduces new talents for Anjunadeep with tracks that will stand out and pass the test of time. Firstly is the incredible Amateur Dance who has extremely bright future ahead of him. His track You Give Me Butterflies is an exceptional slice of fat bouncy groovy old school tech house with raw metallic basslines, pounding meaty drums, cinematic strings, bells melodies, warm synthy lines, spiritual female spoken vocal sample and breathing style effects. The track manage to hypnotise your senses and slowly   uplift your body from the ground as the female vocal is advise us to discover love and appreciate it. Away by Luttrel is a cinematic dreamy travelling melodic progressive house beauty with magnificent synths upon the simple foundation of pulsating basslines and bouncy grooves along with distorted airy fairy voices. Thirdly is Tontario with Late featuring Axel Flovent. The track is a deep melodic excursion with minimal basslines and rolling thumping drum while  in the breakdown melancholic piano chords are added along with cinematic atmospheres and emotional strings. The result is very musical, spacey and unique journey so let yourself go and discover what is hidden inside Lost.  Finally Gacha Bakradze presents his balearic house rendition called Girl.
