ADE Next is the forum for next-generation musicians offering everything you need to get your career on track. All you have to do is supply the talent.
Tickets for ADE Next (€15,-) are available here. The event takes place at Felix Meritis on Saturday October 17. Not convinced yet? We've put together five reasons why you should go:
1/ You can get a proper, professional opinion on your work from the managers, agents, producers and A&R people at Demopitch. And let's face it, who doesn't want a valid and credible opinion on their work? On top of that Montana, the management company that looks after Afrojack and many others, is holding a two hour session where you can ask them pretty much anything about your career, legal agreements, and what the people you work with should be doing for you. And it wouldn't be ADE Next without the legendary Demolition panel hosted by Dave Clarke and featuring songs brought in by members of the audience.
2/ Do you enjoy digging around for classic old records in dusty shops hidden away in small towns? If you do, or even if you just really like those obscure but brilliant tunes that your favourite DJ spins from time to time, Resident Advisor has put together the Future of Crate Digging panel including some top notch diggers like Young Marco and Motor City Drum Ensemble, which will be looking at how even something as traditional and as earthy as rooting around in old shops has now been digitalized and made clickable.
3/ Still not convinced? Then there's the Online Profiling panel which features tactical marketing experts offering seriously valuable advice on the complex issues surrounding how to get the most from social media and the digital world. And we dare to tread where most are afraid to go.... Your Music Is a Serious Business. Act Like It! deals with the ‘not so fun stuff’ about being an artist like legal matters, recognizing bad label deals and laying open the copyright issues you really need to know about.
4/ There is a whole load of valuable stuff going on for beginners, whether you're a producer, a singer, a DJ or an artist. The Vinylized Presents panel - I've Got The Perfect Track....now what? is the definitive guide to how to manage your career when things start to go right, including choosing the right label, and of course finding a manager and agent who will help you rather than merely see you as a meal ticket. Get some professional advice from label owners &ME and Adam Port from Keinemusik as well as the Vision Records and Hey Records label bosses. And the opening debate features some of the twenty four Dancetour 2015 talents talking about how to kickstart your career, and Lucien Foort who will be talking about how to survive as a DJ and producer and staying on top of the game.
5/ And finally, if all the above still leaves you unimpressed, how about the fact that at Next people you normally only see on TV or in the news are right there in front of you, maybe even answering your question! And there are lots of other enticing sessions to check out including a Q&A with Oliver Heldens, no less than four In The Studio With demonstrations from De Sluwe Vos, Boaz van de Beatz, Brazil's DJ Memê and GLOWINTHEDARK, and a panel celebrating five years of Revealed Recordings featuring the people who have turned the label into the indie success story that it is, including label founder Hardwell. See you there!
