REVIEW: Driftmoon vs Geert Huinink feat. Kim - Like A Knife + Forever out on S107 / Armada Music

When you have a gorgeous voice in your studio, take it as far as you can go!

Kim’s soaring voice provided the groundwork for these two, equally impressive feats of epic trance.

When we say epic, we don’t mean in the modern sense.

We mean in the historic, cinematic, grandiose, life-and-death power sense – like a heroic Greek poem.

Prepare for your ears and mind to go on a journey!

Dimitri Kechagias review:  One of the hottest vocal trance labels is back after a long time. S107 part of Armada Music returns in truly epic style with the brand new collaboration between the beloved and internationally acclaimed young producer Driftmoon and the composer of thousands of hits Geert Huinink who is responsible for writting many well known tracks and when you simply notice his name you are prepared for a high class emotional journey. Like A Knife is a magnificent epic progressive trancer of the highest quality that you can think of. With tribal techy bouncy groovy beats, electro inspired basslines and variety of superb sound effects while on top are added the ethereal vocals by Kim and the various synthy melodies are introduced as well. It's time to close your eyes and get ready to flow and float along the therapeutic soundwaves. The breakdown is long and cinematic with large choir parts, orchestral music influences, heartfelt strings, sensitive harps while on top Kim sings her very theatrical story like she is taking part on a magnificent spectacle of lights, effects and great decorations. The main synthy lead makes its appearance and slowly we reach the energetic and full on hands in the air pure trance climax that now melody does the talking and we feel totally lost in music. It's the type of track that you can really enjoy on events like Armin Only where music meets spectacle and pure emotions. The 2nd track is called Forever and starts deeper, more moody and dream trance with chopped vocal samples, ethereal parts of Kim's performance and very strong memorable melodic themes that you enjoy very much and you feel that the rich production is result of many hard days in the studio that finally pays off. The breakdown starts with violin melody that comes and goes creating a really floating result with Kim heartbreaking singing that simply rejuvenate your spirit until the massive rave style synthy riff comes to the front to lead the track to its epic hands in the air highly emotional and very intense climax that can make some cry as well. #PureClass #PureQuality #PureGold Love it
