JAY LUMEN – Here Comes That Sound EP   Great Stuff

A1: Jay Lumen - Here Comes That Sound
A2: Jay Lumen - Get Wet
B: Jay Lumen - Not Jazzy

Hungary's finest lands on Great Stuff with a weighty 3-tracker, following on from an acclaimed and varied output for big labels as diverse as Sebastien Leger's Mistakes Music, 2000 And One's 100% Pure and Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records.

Lead track Here Comes That Sound is trademark Jay Lumen: a fiercely jacking bass groove bouncing around beneath layers of skippy old school house percussion and just a light smattering of incessant techy stabs, vocal snippets, FX and rhythm. Falling perfectly into that irresistible grey area between house and techno, it's a track to make the floor come over all flushed and get those fists pumping.

Get Wet treads a funkier route, sassy disco percussion tumbling over filtered rhythmic samples and big swathes of white noise married to teasing, almost tribal builds. Imagine Carl Cox ripping up the Terrace at Space in full swing and you're getting near. Fierce.

Not Jazzy completes this tasty trio with some serious percussive swing and bounce, with jazz drum fills scattered amidst splashy cymbal rides and squeals of trumpets somewhere in the distance. It's a constantly engaging track, full to the brim with rhythm and sassiness, and packs a hell of a punch when played at excessive  volumes.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Jay Lumen offers one of his best EP’s so far on Great Stuff with 3 big room tech house bombs that will explode big time in any dancefloor near you. He packs in one track old school samples, great funk and groove with his bubbly tech house with progressive house influences beats and the result is brilliant. Here Comes the Sound is the bouncier of all 3 with so much hot action happening that is impossible not to like it. It’s the kind of tracks that light jockeys like as well cause they keep them busy as they should play a lot with the light effects in order to bring out the energy and intensity of this top tunez. Not Jazzy has a jazzy swing like trumpet sample along with vocal samples that create instantly that retro party atmosphere to keep the bodies grooving and shaking. Get Wet is another cool tech house beauty that has the right ingredients to push all the right and exact buttons to make us hot and sexy on the dancefloor. This is a highlight EP for the  summer for sure! Overall Performance Mark: 10/10
