ADE 2018: Tirzah will make her ADE debut on ADE Friday in the Tolhuistuin

The Essex-born pop singer is known for her unconventional and experimental take on Brit R&B.

London based Tirzah spent years in the center of the very prolific post-grime and UK garage scene in the British capital. For a decade she has worked from various shared apartments and DIY studios on her debut album Devotion, which will land on Domino Records in early August. Domino calls Devotion a "deeply personal hallucination of British R&B" influenced by the likes of Al Green, Barry White and D'Angelo.

Tirzah teamed up with her childhood friend Micachu (from Micachu and the Shapes), which resulted in some very strong lyrics about inner conflicts and the complexity of life, underpinned by the dark, recognizable beats of Micachu. 'Gladly' is the album’s woozy first single and is accompanied by a music video directed by Hannah Perry.

For Those Who Can't Wait for ADE to Start
On Tuesday, October 17th, Paradiso and LUDWIG will organize PastPresentFuture, 'an experimental road trip through electronic music'.

Grammy-award winning music collective LUDWIG presents the past, present and future of electronic music. From the first experiments by Edgard Varèse right into the twenty-first century with groundbreaking innovations by musicians and composers such as Moondog, Ligeti, Steve Reich and Arvo Pärt. LUDWIG invites today's visionary artists and DJs to share their vision of the future with them. Electronic duo WEVAL are the special guests of the night and will play an ambient set. Alongside the event, visitors can attend demonstrations of the latest technological innovations, brain tests on members of the audience and live music talks.
