We are happy to welcome back a long time friend of our label and the family: DANIEL PORTMAN returns to Enormous Tunes after quite a while with this overwhelming 3 track EP. He promised the label team already in autumn 2015 to produce an EP for Enormous Tunes again and since then we were eagerly waiting in front of our mailbox to receive some demos. When we finally got the 4 tracks (1 track is scheduled to be a part of our Ibiza Nights compilation released on May 30) the whole office crew was dancing on the desks and we didn't had to think twice and signed the whole EP. RIJEKA is the principal seaport and the third-largest city in Croatia (after Zagreb and Split), but also the name of this EP and its title track for which Daniel teamed up with our in- house buddy CALIPPO. Together they created the first summer club hit in 2016. The track combines Daniel's signature techno and minimal sounds and Calippo's excessive use of organic instruments and classic house elements. The melodic brass breakdown section goes off like a big stadium anthem and teases with a traditional croatian folk choir chant that leads into the pumping and epic drops. CASA RUMBA also takes a mediterranean house direction. The native vocal raps build the signature here and together with the crispy percussion licks and conga loops they make the track a true summer beach weapon. For the friends of the more techier house music, Daniel produced CAHUENGA. A techno track with dark synth stabs, epic and progressive build ups and super hot drops. A must have EP for all the DJs who want to bring the summer a little closer to their crowd.
