REVIEW: AVICII - Wake Me Up feat.Aloe Blacc incl official music video on PM:AM / Universal Germany

1-Original mix
2-Instrumental mix
3-Radio edit

Even now, the 23-year-old Avicii is one of the most successful DJs and he looks back on an impressive career behind the controls and consoles. It would be easy for the charismatic Sweden to rest on the wave of success and to carry on  with the next song in the good old way. But instead against all expectations he thinks and works amazingly progressive and Avicii gets to boot for his new single "Wake Me Up!" surprisingly Aloe Blacc who is the current master of soul music. The courage is rewarded: the two artists from two different genres benefit and harmonize perfectly with each other.

The song is first carried by an acoustic guitar, which sets the fast beat and rhythm before Aloe Blacc is in with his distinctive vocals. Ever since his hit "I Need A Dollar" we know and love all these distinctive soulful voice. Aloe describes the ever-present and diffuse state of ignorance: "Feeling my way through the darkness / Guided by a beating heart / I can not tell where the journey will end / But I know where it starts." However, "Wake Me Up! "Happily, neither pessimistic nor resignation - rather, Avicii and Aloe enjoy the exciting moments that life holds for all willing to not have everything under control. "Well life will pass me by / If I do not open up my eyes / Well that's fine by me." In the refrain of this tension is underlined and musically. The first electronic elements already are noticed carefully following the energetic house tunes. And shortly afterwards is it so far - "Wake Me Up" seems to explode with power without sacrificing the grooving and melodic moments. With "Wake Me Up" Avicii shows once again that he knows his business, at the same time is impressive and innovative and he is already one of the greats of the current house and electro scene.

Already in his Stockholm nursery tinkered Avicii his first beats and songs. On the modern distribution channels of the Internet, he quickly build up a considerable fan base. Since 2010, he published regularly tracks and is a permanent resident in the worldwide sales charts. 2011 was the single "Levels" in Germany and England in the Top Ten and sold incredible 2.2 million times And just as rapidly Aviciis career should go . He won several awards (including the Dance Music Award), found himself at number 3 of the world's most important DJs again (chosen by the prestigious DJ Mag), and "I Could Be The One", he managed a number-one hit in the UK.

Now comes with the highly successful combination of Avicii and Aloe Blacc "Wake Me Up" - a fusion of house and soul, power and playfulness. It is assumed that both Avicii and Aloe Blacc will add their careers unprecedented another huge highlight.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The EDM world waits with anticipation the return of the magnificent AVICII. After his huge collaboration with Nicky Romero for his mindblowing I Could Be The One he returns and rather than working with another superstar dj for his next single he surprise us all with his decision to co-operate with Aloe Blacc who someone can call him a modern urban poet that happened to be one of the most promising superstars of an alternative urban pop generation. Wake Me Up is  so awesome in many different levels and ways. Firstly is of course AVICII's  decision to experiment with country influences in EDM. The intro with that lovely quitar is just magical and his whole production showcase his valuable and highly praised talent. The combination of the nice melodies with the uplifting upfront beats sounds in my ears like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The euphoric climax in a way is a resolution for the tension described in the lyrics. The track is very danceable, pleasurable and I can imagine the crowd go nuts when he will play them in his sold out shows. Second level of excellence is the one and only Aloe Blacc. What can you really say for such a gifted man. His lyrics encapsulate wisdom that speaks universally to all young people indifferent from country, race, sex preference. If you are young or you feel young at heart you will identify with his superb lyrics straight away. Wake Me Up now comes with its lovely extended version, the instrumental version for those who want to focus on the guitar part and the uplifting synths and brand new shorter radio edit perfect for multiple plays on daytime radio's worldwide. When two geniuses come together you can only expect an explosive and already considered as classic in the making crossover EDM anthem. Love IT!
