Early confirmations for ADE Pro’s inaugural Strategy Pack sessions come in the form of Microsoft’s Head of Music Supervision Kyle Hopkins, and leading website/software developer and hacker Syd Lawrence of We Make Awesome Shit. Oliver Lancett of theAudience is also confirmed.
Syd Lawrence is a maker and founder of We Make Awesome Sh. He is a core contributor to Tomahawk, an evangelist for Twilio, an advisor for Bloo.ie and often builds silly things for the web that make people smile. He's basically a massive geek with too much time on his hands, thanks to his resistance to sleep.
Kyle Hopkins oversees music supervision for Microsoft. He curates soundtracks for Xbox games and places music in Windows, Windows Mobile, Xbox Live and Zune marketing campaigns. As DJ Kid Hops, Kyle hosts two weekly radio programs on award-winning KEXP 90.3 fm in Seattle - a four-time CMJ "Station of the Year" award winner and the most streamed radio station in America. Kyle is a music fanatic and an avid vinyl record collector.
theAudience is firmly planted dead center in the music business right now. The direct to fan approach of content, sponsorship, and commerce of theAudience is really creating self-sustainable models for music artists. Oliver Lancett will speak about his work for theAudience.
Strategy Pack speakers will be offering their views on the current state of play between music and technology, as well as offering advice on best practice in the digital domain, forward-looking ideas about how to develop new revenue streams, and getting the best out of the digital world, followed by a Q&A with the audience.
