Gabriel & Dresden return to the EDM fold with "Play it Back", a tour du force return to form for the hit-making, award-winning duo of Josh Gabriel & Dave Dresden.
Featuring a plaintive, emotional vocal from New York-based singer-songwriter Betsie Larkin, trademark G&D chords and vocal harmonies from the boys themselves, this unique progressive trance song has caused a stir in G&D's DJ sets globally all summer long. There are two versions of "Play it Back"; The "Original mix" aims squarely at the dance floor while the chilled "Gabriel & Dresden Sunrise Mix" will wind up or down any party in fine style with a melody that doesn't quit.
Gabriel & Dresden formed in 2001 and quickly gained notoriety for both their productions and DJing, scoring hits such as "As The Rush Comes" (as Motorcycle), "Beautiful Things" (Andain) and "Tracking Treasure Down" to name a few. They also scored 21 #1 remixes and tracks on the Billboard Dance Club Play chart and took home numerous awards including IDMA's for "Best American DJ" two years running.
Betsie Larkin is also no stranger to success having made one of 2008's biggest anthems, "Made of Love" (with Ferry Corsten), which scored huge on ASOT, TATW and even in the Netherlands where it was a top 40 single. She has also worked with a who's who of EDM producers including ATB, John O'Callaghan, Lange and Starkillers.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The awesome duo Gabriel & Dresden that I had the chance to experience twice live on the epic festival Tomorrowland in Belgium return on their high quality imprint Organised Nature with their magnificent progressive beauty Play It Back that includes the magnificent performance by Betsie Larkin who once again will deeply impress you for sure. The release packs two fantastic versions in one bundle so its definitely a must have release for your digital collection. The Original mix has a classic Gabriel & Dresden soundcolour with their typical chunky groovy driving beats and basslines, rock influences and dark mysterious unsettling undertones as well. Betsie Larkin's voice has that indie rock quality and sounds the most appropriate to offer words on the superb soundbed that Gabriel & Dresden composed in their very own personal style. Great atmospheric dreamy breakdown lead us on the more electro house infused climax to offer the pay off moment that everybody is waiting to get. The second equally absorbing remix is Gabriel & Dresden Sunrise Mix that is a tottaly different approach from the original mix as this version sounds faster and full on with tougher beats and basslines and great 80's electro pop influenced melodies that add that balearic summery feel to it. Betsie's performance is expressive and totally in tune with that great atmosphere that all Garbiel & Dresden productions contain and invite the listener to enter their soundscape and experience the story that the great lyrics describe and you can easily start to sing a long like me while I was writting this review. Quality always wins against all odds. Love IT!
