REVIEW: Dusky - Stick By This (The Remixes EP2) out on Anjunadeep

Following on from the more house-centred "Stick By This Remixed EP1", the second EP offers five exciting reworks from the worlds of techno, electronica and garage.
 
A favourite from his Boiler Room set earlier in the summer, Midland's hypnotic reshape of "Resin" takes things deep down into a ghostly techno tunnel. T. Williams brings a fresh carnival groove to the soulful piano house of "Lost In You" (feat. Janai), whilst Synkro continues his recent purple patch with a dubby two-step rework of the Leftfield-esque "I'm Running" (feat. Soloman) - a favourite of the legendary Francois K.
 
Completing the package, GoldFFinch transform "Stick By This" into a ravey warehouse techno jam, and Ben Gomori gives "Thoughts & Motions" a bumpy garage relick.
 
 
 
Dimitri Kechagias review: Anjunadeep, UK based label but with global influence that never fails to impress with its fantastic releases and great nose to sniff and discover  new talents that other labels are crying loud why they didn't sign them first returns with the second EP of the high quality new fresh and exciting interpretations of the brilliant Dusky's album Stick By This. Anjunadeep's sets new standards constantly and challenge even itself with music that can be called eclectic EDM on the realms of house music open to wide interpretations of course. Its A & R belief in new great artists that we can trust blindfolded and they manage so successfully to build them from the scratch is definitely something that must be highlighted. For instance check out the wealth of talents and sounds that you can hear on the new remixes for Dusky. Cinematic atmosphere, deep tech house grooves  and hypnotic atmosphere is what you get on  Midland reshape of Resin. A late night house gem that you can imagine being played in late night beach bars while the sun is rising and the crowd needs still to dance but in a more chilly mode.  Lost In You is a golden hit from this album and can even easily enter the UK Top 40. T. Williams adds latin grooves and some of the fantastic Notting Hill Carnival atmosphere. The relentlessly playing piano groove upon the bubbly beats its such a pleasure for the ears. Stunning stuff to make you believe in good house vibes once again. Synkro remixes I'm Runnin and starts with a long atmospheric intro before unleashing the deep techno sounding beats perfect for late night sessions on the dancefloor. Stick By This is reworked beautifully by GoldFFinch in a remix packed with cinematic atmospheres, attention to each every single sound layer and element in order to get out the most of it. Emotional breakdown that lead the track to a very touching final part that can make you feel inspired. Lastly Ben Gomori's Swords & Potions Remix service the Thoughts & Motions track in the best possible way. Trippy garage sound with stretched chopped echoed vocals, playful atmosphere, groovy tribalish beats  and addictive rhythm that smells underground club nights in London. You will definitely Stick To This!  Love IT!
