Progressive Review: Deep Dish Announce String of Residencies and New Versions of Their Classics; Enlist Agency, Management & Label Partners

Deep Dish, the electronic music duo consisting of Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi, bring their ten-year hiatus to an end with today’s announcement of a string of residencies in New York and London and new versions of two of their most beloved tracks, ‘Flashdance’ and ‘Say Hello’.

As Deep Dish enter their next phase, they’ve returned to the studio for the first time in a decade to reimagine some of their classics, including ‘Flashdance’ and ‘Say Hello’. Today, twenty years after its original release, the first new version of ‘Flashdance’— the Deep Dish Guitar Redux Remix — drops on Armada Music, with the second new version to follow next week. Named after its vocal sample of Shandi Sinnamon’s 1983 hit ‘He’s a Dream’ from the hit movie Flashdance, the track became one of Deep Dish’s biggest crossover successes, topping the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and peaking at #3 in the UK Singles Chart. Now, the Guitar Redux Remix delivers a powerful dose of 2004 nostalgia with a contemporary twist, kicking the original up a notch with a suspense-laden, club-ready production all while maintaining the iconic bassline that anchors the track’s legacy.

"It's been really great to reunite with one another in the studio recently. We couldn't be happier with the fresh revamps of ‘Flashdance’ and ‘Say Hello’, which are the initial fruits of the very productive studio sessions we recently had in Los Angeles,” say Deep Dish. “Having spent the better part of nearly the past two decades developing and establishing our solo careers, we feel that it is now time to inject a newfound creativity into our collective style. These new updates, which were made with love and reverence for the original versions, also capture where our new sound is headed. We can't wait to share this new music with you all.”
Alongside these new versions, Deep Dish will hold residencies this winter in two key cities that have shaped the duo’s career: London and New York. These intimate, low capacity shows will serve as a vehicle for the pair to test new ideas in an close setting with both old and new fans alike. Deep Dish add:
"We are very much looking forward to reuniting in the DJ booth for some special shows and limited residencies around the world over the next few months, where we will also be road-testing some of the new material we've quietly been working on.”
Deep Dish have also teamed up with Purple Wall for management and CAA agents Mac Clark, Roman Trystram, Julian Teixeira, Kal Jhugro and Evan Greenberg, following the duo’s announcement of their partnership with Armada Music earlier this year to bring their critically acclaimed ‘George Is On’ album back to DSPs and download portals worldwide. With management, agency and label partners on board, Deep Dish have rounded out their team in full force as they embark on this next chapter.
“Firstly, I'm a fan. Deep Dish was and is one of my favorite artists. I now have the opportunity to be involved in the next evolution of their journey,” says Donal McCarthy, Artist Manager, Purple Wall. “This is a great honor for me, and I'm super excited about our next steps. We have some amazing plans, and I think it's a perfect time musically for them to come back and show the world what they have been missing.”

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Deep Dish are bringing back their beloved anthem Flashdance. Their brand new Guitar Redux Remix is the finest way to refresh that track that has been part of trance and house DJs playlists for years. Incredible vocals and top notch rock infused guitar riffs merged with thumping kicks, pounding drums and cracking percussion that seems to carry away easily the minds, bodies and souls. Flashdance is an eternal classic and Deep Dish manage to bring it back with passionate arrangement and heavier foundation that will fit perfectly the club environments and mainstage festivals sets. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

About Armada Music

Armada Music is the biggest independent dance music label in the world. Founded by Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron (CEO) and David Lewis, the label manages an ever-growing catalog of over 40,000 tracks, built up across twenty-plus years of specialized dance music exploitation.

Representing artists such as Armin van Buuren, ARTY, D.O.D, Eelke Kleijn, Jan Blomqvist, Loud Luxury, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Tensnake, THEMBA and Yulia Niko, Armada Music amasses more than one billion streams per month, airplay on leading radio outlets such as BBC Radio 1 and Sirius XM, and top positions in the world’s most notable charts. The label also takes great pride in major achievements such as Armin van Buuren’s GRAMMY nomination for ‘This Is What It Feels Like’, Loud Luxury and Brando’s ‘Body’ surpassing one billion streams on Spotify and breaking artists such as Lost Frequencies into global stardom.

Across offices in Amsterdam (HQ), New York, London and Laren (NL), Armada Music offers a truly global appeal to its growing roster. The label has its own club, radio studio and multiple production studios, and hosts various live formats. Producer platform Armada University, which offers educational products and opportunities, shows the label’s sustained effort to nurture the next wave of talent.

In 2023, Armada Music launched BEAT Music Fund, the world’s first dance music investment company, that acquires catalogs with the mission of honoring, representing and reinvigorating them. BEAT’s portfolio will continue to grow; in the first six months following its launch, BEAT acquired the catalogs of, among others, electronic music star ARTY, house and techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records, legendary NYC-based house label King Street Sounds and chart-topping producers Chocolate Puma.
