Fun fact: you can’t copywrite a song title ... When it comes to ‘Love Comes Quickly’, nor would you need to. Those words became synonymous with the Pet Shop Boys hours after they released the track in 1986. So, in terms of what to expect here, you might have some idea … However, there’s much more to this hybrid cover / remix / ’love-letter’ than meets the eye …
Let’s explore !!
Young Parisians (the alias of Richard ‘Solarstone’ Mowatt) has a release history that’s as long as it is judiciously curated. It mixes now-established classics like ‘U Write The Rules’ and ‘Jump The Next Train’ with occasional covers (inc. Animotion’s 'Obsession' in 2007 being the last) and more recent fare like ‘Rediscover' (w/Katherine Amy). All YP’s music though has two aspects in common: a top-note-tinge of the 80s and a moodsome ‘presence’ unlike any other.
To affect the reimagining of ‘Love Comes Quickly’, Richard needed a very specific kind of vocal talent. Enter JES, the 3 times GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter, and the voice behind immortals like ‘As The Rush Comes’ and ‘As We Collide’. Richard and JES already have distinguished history, having previously collaborated on the Tiësto-championed ‘In Search Of Sunrise’ classic, ‘Like A Waterfall’. Finally finding the right opportunity for a second coming-together,
Richard commented, “JES and I worked together on this because her voice always reminded me a little of Dusty Springfield. Her collaborations with the Pet Shop Boys (like 'What Have I Done to Deserve This' and ‘Nothing Has Been Proved’) always complimented their music so well.’
He continues, “Pet Shop Boys were the soundtrack to my teenage years, and ‘Love Comes Quickly’ was always one of my favourites. I've wanted to remix them for years, but I guess they lost my number!”, he jokes. “The idea was to make a kind of cover-cum-remix fusion, recreating a lot of the original sounds by researching which synths were used back in 1986. We also created a variation on the original cover art for the single and the arrangement of my 'Disco Mix' is based upon Shep Pettibone’s version of the same name'. The addition of the old-school Chicago House piano break was a bit of fun that I thought that Neil & Chris would get a kick out of if they ever came across this release.”

Lyrics
Sooner or later
this happens to everyone
to everyone
You can live your life lonely
heavy as stone
Live your life learning
and working alone
Say this is all you want
but I don't believe that it's true
'cause when you least expect it
waiting round the corner for you
Love comes quickly
whatever you do
you can't stop falling
Love comes quickly
whatever you do
you can't stop falling
You can live a life of luxury
if that's what you want
Taste forbidden pleasures
whatever you want
You can fly away to the end of the world
but where does it get you to?
'cause just when you least expect it
just what you least expect
Love comes quickly
whatever you do
you can't stop falling
Love comes quickly
whatever you do
you can't stop falling
I know it sounds ridiculous
but speaking from experience
It may seem romantic
and that's no defence
love will always get to you
Sooner or later, sooner or later
this happens to everyone
to everyone
You can fly away to the end of the world
but where does it get you?
Love comes quickly
whatever you do
you can't stop falling
Love comes quickly
whatever you do
you can't stop falling

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Young Parisians aka Rich "Solarstone" and JES collaborate to resurrect in the public domain the beloved 80's anthem Love Comes Quickly by the beloved UK duo Pet Shop Boys who were characterised for the witty and very eclectic lyrics and the brilliant performance by Neil Tenant. This brand new version in its Disco Mix acquires some of the cool sounds of the original with simple traveling pulsating basslines, electro touched kicks, crunchy drums and heavy dose of acid overtones. It's deep melodic and raw 122 BPM beauty that grows inside you every time you listen to it. It's one of those tracks that you can not get enough and you press the replay button million times. Cool pianos, synths, gated vocals and balearic guitar riffs are applied excellently to create that early balearic house atmosphere of the 80's. Last but not least JES sounds obviously the best singer to handle this tough task to sing the iconic lyrics and she manage successfully to add her own tone without attempting to sound like someone else. Its JES 100% voice and unique character that she manage to elevate the track to the next level. The release includes Dub mix for those who would love to keep the journey vocal free. #PureGold Love IT . [/content]
