ADE 2016: Superb selection and high quality inspiring speakers announced for ADE so far..


With the latest additions of Daniel Glass (US), DJ Jazzy Jeff (US), Gilles Peterson (FR), Kurt 'Kurtis Blow' Walker (US), Maria May (GB), Scott Storch (US) alongside amongst others Anthony Saleh (US), Bruce Eskowitz (US), Daniel Miller (GB), Eelko van Kooten (NL), Hudson Mohawke (GB), Jackmaster (GB), Molly Neuman (US), Richie Hawtin (CA), Sevn Alias (NL), Steve Bartels (US) and Tom Riley (GB), ADE's conference program is well on its way to be finalized in the coming weeks.

ADE Pro
The primary conference is built around ADE Pro, which takes place at the Felix Meritis and Dylan Hotel between the 19th and 22nd, featuring a myriad of artists, managers and intellectuals debating and discussing the changes and trends happening within the electronic music community. Already confirmed to kick things off is Def Jam CEO Steve Bartels, who’ll be opening proceedings with a Keynote Q&A as he discusses the label’s legacy and how he assisted in the careers of such talent as Jay Z, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and more.


ADE Green
ADE Green on the 19th which will be looking at ways dance culture can be sustainable and encourage people to further work with the environment. Taking place in de Brakke Grond, this side of the conference looks at ways on how to further push for social change, by looking at festivals, events and policies which have helped push dance music culture to better reflect the greater needs of the planet.


ADE Dance & Brands
Thursday the 20th sees this year’s iteration of ADE Dance and Brands, an open discussion in which managers, artists and marketeers highlight their relationship with the corporate world. Taking place at the Hotel Arena, this year’s Keynote speaker is with Raphael Aflalo, CEO and co-founder of My Love Affair, the agency he launched alongside David and Cathy Guetta. This is your opportunity to discover how music and brands can create synergy to maximize needs.


ADE University
ADE University will be running a three program from the 19th till the 21st at the NDSM Wharf, looking to provide a more academic narrative providing an infrastructure for young entrepreneurs and those looking to break through into the industry side of things. Full of lectures, discussions, panels and workshops, ADE University is primed for students and those looking to better their profession.


ADE Sound Lab
ADE Sound Lab recently announced this year’s theme will be ‘Frequencies’, - ‘Translate sound into light / the content of sound.’ Also running from the 19th till the 21st, the daytime program at De Brakke Grond and Compagnietheater looks at technical experimentation and innovation taking into account various disciplines. Along with workshops, panels and discussions, ADE Sound Lab provides a very hands-on experience for those looking to get a tactile experience with gear and other erstwhile music making equipment.

ADE Beamlab
Thursday's ADE Beamlab provides an immersive environment for visitors to engage in, with in a field more focused on the visual elements, taking into account sound, stage design and visuals. Previous years have seen performances by Heleen Blanken and Jem the Misfit, while the teams behind Amon Tobin and Richie Hawtin have opened up to some of their creative secrets. 


ADE Beats
Friday’s ADE Beats – a celebration of all things hip-hop, bass and beats- taking place at Melkweg, has already announced a Q&A with Hudson Mohawke, legendary producer Om’mas Keith, while Noisey will be taking the lead in focusing on the Dutch scene by teaming together mc Hef with Sevn Alias, and hosting a panel replete with local experts.


ADE Next
Saturday offers a program more tailored towards those wanting to break into the scene; the newcomers and the next generation of talent. Taking place in the Felix Meritis, the program for ADE Next is full of workshops, Q&As and panels, all culminating in the (in)famous Demo Demolition panel hosted by Dave Clarke, in which attendees can submit a demo for review by a team of crack judges. This year, ADE Next will feature workshops on synching, mastering, video production along with studio sessions hosted by Sander van Doorn and Detroit Swindle.
