Dutch duo Esteble aka Joep Esseling & Bram Harmsen made their first Anjunadeep appearance with ‘Passage’, the opening track to last Autumn’s iTunes Dance #1 compilation ‘Anjunadeep 07’. ‘Passage’ now sees a release on the pair’s full label debut, the diverse ‘Feathers EP’ featuring four tracks showcasing their intricate composition and deft melodic touch.
The EP opens with ‘Feathers’ a brooding electronic gem, weaving delicate melodies with clever instrumentalism, above a warm textured bassline. ‘Passage’ is a fine example of the duo’s raw organic sound, a skilled soundscape layering soft melodies with natural elements.
Next up ‘The Walk’, an upbeat cinematic groover with as much dynamism as the title would suggest. Closing off the EP ‘Soaring’ is a more dance floor minded production with a stripped back feel combining slick percussive elements with interspersed arpeggios.

You can only expect high class productions that doesn't fit easily to any music genre categories as actually manage to transgress and move in and out of certain pigeonholes. With plenty of new ideas and great ear for the smallest details Feathers EP includes tracks that will upset your preconceptions and allow you to fall in love with melodies rather than with noises. Feathers starts with magnificent intro of a little saxophone riff, natural sounds,cool deep rolling bassline and organic sounding groove. Melodramatic cinematic elements lead the track beautifully forward by building the magical soundscape that includes piano chords, warm synths and sincere strings. It has certainly attractiveness to the ear which can not be explained with words. Passage is the excellent ambient chill out production with natural elements that support your imagination to visualize what you hear and organic sounds that create the tempting relaxing smooth groove that hypnotize and lure the listener. The Walk is calming deep progressive track with danceable groove, excellent sound design that slowly introduces new surprising elements and distorted synthy themes along with cinematic strings that please the ear and cure the soul. Soaring comes last and is the one that djs who like deep progressive music will use in their sets. Superb wobbly tribal groove, driving deep haunting basslines, moody synthy themes, natural elements and great arrangement that sounds like the spider building her feather around you until you give up trying to escape. The breakdown includes some cool percussion sounds that moves us towards the next sequence that is more melancholic, sad and melodic.
