For the second time this year Andy Duguid and vocalist Jaren join forces to serve the world another great trance feast. Whilst Andy takes care of the drumming beats, Jaren gives the track the sentiment you would also expect from a track called ‘Battlecry’.

Andy Duguid is a name firmly established in the music industry and known for his sometimes risky productions and independent approach. Andy's string of successful top quality releases has pushed him to the top of the production world and in turn, has seen him travel to all corners of the planet. Andy also has his own hit radio show and podcast, 'Revolutionz', which is fastly becoming one of the best EDM shows on the planet. In 2011, Andy started his own record label called After Dark Music, to deliver top quality EDM to the world. 2013 saw the release of his second artist album after ‘Believe’, ‘On The Edge’, scoring raving reviews everywhere.

Jaren started out as a country/folk singer and got introduced to dance music in 2005. She really stands out from the crowd with her powerful and emotive voice. Jaren is not only a singer, but also a songwriter, writing tracks for Armin van Buuren and Arnej. 

Dimitri Kechagias review: The beloved Scottish dj & producer Andy Duguid meets again the one and only singer Jaren for the immediate trance anthem Battlecry. After their fantastic hits 7even and History, they collaborate for another high class trance production that will get many plays in the coming months. Battlecry is a fully fledged song with deep thoughtful lyrics that can touch you deeply and the audience can easily identify with them. Powerful and energetic from the very beginning the tough kick and the tight bassline along with the marching drum programming set the tone nicely as we get prepared for something big while on top some chopped parts of the vocal appear as well. The breakdown is absolutely stunning packed with epic strings, symphonic and classical orchestral music influences that add to the track that high class shinny polished edge. Jaren performance stands out as she sounds like the singing comes from the deepest parts of her soul and most importantly means what she sings about. Some may call the breakdown melodramatic or sugary but actually manage easily to transcend the listener to another dimension with its incredible cinematic sounddesign. The climax in contrast is hopeful, euphoric, hands in the air with uplifting synthy riffs that will manage to cheer you up even if everything goes wrong in your life. If the question is if Jaren & Andy should continue to work together in the future I will advise them to do so. #PureDiamond Love It
