Dave Clarke, DJ Moortje, Chuckie, LMFAO, Loco Dice and many more to speak at ADE Aruba.
After its successful launch in 2013, Amsterdam Dance Event is premiering its first three day-edition of ADE Aruba at the Electric Festival (Sept 3-7, Aruba). From Thursday September 4 - Saturday September 6, ADE organizes a stream of panel discussions, workshops, Q&A’s, studio sessions and tropical networking moments.
ADE Aruba will kick off on Thursday September 4 with an opening keynote by renowned music scholar, influential blogger and Harvard University musicologist Wayne Marshall, who specializes in the intersections between Caribbean, Dutch and American popular music. Marshall has done extensive research on Jamaican and Dutch-Caribbean roots of international modern club music and local-to-global phenomena like reggaeton, bubbling, moombahton and Dutch ‘dirty’ house and will share his latest insights in a compelling keynote presentation. The keynote speech will be followed by an interactive panel discussion on the Dutch Caribbean roots of club music with bubbling pioneer DJ Moortje, Aruba’s tropical bass innovator DJ Fellow, Wayne Marshall and international club juggernauts The Partysquad.
Another exciting keynote speaker at ADE Aruba is Dave Clarke, the legendary techno pioneer who has been at the forefront of electronic music innovation for, well, ever and has a strong reputation as a passionate ambassador for fresh new music developments. In his colourful talk '10 DJ’s That Should Be Billionaires' (And One That Owes Me Money) Dave Clarke will tell all about the DJ’s he considers his main inspiration, what big or small names behind the desks have influenced him, and what DJ’s were or are pillars to the international music scene and deserve more recognition in his view.
Jonathan Christiansen from Hit The Ground Running, Inc, in Los Angeles, is coming to our conference looking for electronic music to license for use in major US TV series and motion pictures, and celebrated US producer and songwriter Anthony Preston, who has worked closely with will.i.am, David Guetta, Pitbull, Britney Spears and many others, will speak on the latest developments in the EDM and global music scene, how he spends his days looking for the perfect musical gem in a lively and interactive Q&A.
Further prominent guests and speakers include Chuckie & Ryan Narain (Dirty Dutch, NL), Loco Dice (DE), Sky Blu (LMFAO, US), Connor Sheldon & Steve Hogan (William Morris Endeavor, US), Peter Hillebrands (Sensation, NL), Ibo Orgut (Q-Dance, NL), Claude Zdanow (Stadium Red, US), his excellency Otmar Oduber, Minister of Tourism & Culture (AW). More speakers to be announced soon. Have a look at the program so far.
At ADE Aruba we will firmly focus on networking possibilities and the further development of the electronic music scene in Latin America and the Caribbean and we discuss the development of strong regional and international networks with a wide host of local, regional and international key players.
