REVIEW: Gaia - Empire Of Hearts (Johann Stone Remix) out on Who's Afraid Of 138?! / Armada Music

Charged with the task of mixing Gaia, the enigmatic and all-powerful trance duo, Johann Stone took his responsibilities with the seriousness that they deserved.

His remix keeps the spirit of the original alive and kicking, while packaging it in sound design that is the stuff of legends.

This will bring Stone into the public eye, and rightly so!

Dimitri Kechagias review: It's definitely a very hard task to bring on the table an artist that can produce a magnificent remix on the massive Armin van Buuren's side project Gaia and his top anthem Empire Of Hearts. Johann Stone from the faraway but so close through music Iceland took the challenge to create his own full on headbanging translation and the result is absolutely mindblowing to say the least. Empire of Hearts through the eyes and ears of Johann is a tough mainstage monster track with heavy acid layers on top to keep it dirty and underground combined with the characteristic Gaia style classical music themes and rave style synthy riff to blow the speakers and explode out of proportion. His build up towards the breakdown is truly intense and when he arrives on his landing moment allows the various blissful elements to come forward and the massive orchestral music part to raise the hair from our neck. When the big euphoric synthy riff appears we start to prepare our body for the heavy work out that will follow when the banging kick strikes back for the full on hands in the air uplifting climax that  is melodic, optimistic, colourful and very intense. Johann manage to uncover the dark side on that track and this will please or surprise many fans of the original! #PureGold Love iT
