ADE 2014: Boy George latest addition to ADE MusicTalks line-up

George Alan O'Dowd, known to most of us as Boy George, will be appearing at ADE's unique artist/fan forum ADE MusicTalks in the Brakke Grond.

O'Dowd has had an amazing career starting with Culture Club who were one of the biggest pop acts of the 80s, selling millions of records, and topping charts on both sides of the Atlantic. A less well known fact is that before Culture Club, he was a make-up artist for the Royal Shakespeare Company, a job that allowed him to refine his technique and that famous, androgynous look.

Forming his own label More Protein in the early 90s, he then went on to have several more hits including Bow Down Mister and After The Love under the name Jesus Loves You. It was also around this time that he started DJ-ing seriously after rave promoters Fantazia asked him to put together a house compilation which was picked up by Sony. He went on to make several more compilations for Ministry of Sound all of which sold well, and has played parties, LBGT nights and festivals all over the world. He is still extremely active as a DJ and recording artist, has his own clothing line, B-Rude, and this summer played a series of sold out shows with the reformed Culture Club.
