REVIEW: Spix & Tim Nokx - Carpe Diem out on Wildlife / Black Hole recordings

Spix joined forced with Tim Nokx for a superb deep house gem called Carpe Diem.

Spix, full name Melvin Spix, was born in 1990 in The Netherlands. As a child he played the drums, taking his first steps in the world of music. Initially he was into all kinds of styles, but at age 15 he found is genre of choice and started producing his own trance/progressive music. His initial releases already received the support from artists like Tiësto, Above & Beyond and Ferry Corsten. Over time Melvin changed his style and concentrated on tech- and deep house. The success came quickly and the single "Braga" not only got signed to the V-Essentials label, but also harvested the support from big names like Stefan K, Dave Lambert, Roger Sanchez, Ivan Pica, The Flash Brothers, Nikki Belucci and many others. Melvin has released tracks together with T.O.M. and recently dropped his single "The New Generation" on the Black Hole sub label Avanti; now presenting his new release "Carpe Diem" with young talent Tim Nokx.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The top house record label Wildlife strikes back with another must have item for your digital collection and deep tech house sets. Carpe Diem by Spinx & Tim Nokx is a stunning hypnotising production that has the word summer holidays written all over it. Relaxing with tribal tech house beats, disco house influences, deep haunting basslines, and very cool deep melodies as well. Also on the very background you can hear some distorted vocal samples too. The track has excellent flow and perfectly balanced to keep the listeners hooked and locked in its great groove and fantastic atmosphere as well. For me the atmosphere that the track radiates is a decisive factor to like or not a track and this production has plenty of atmosphere and cinematic undertones. Play it a lot until to worn out your copy! Love IT
