One of the favorite producers of W&W and his tune an even bigger favorite of those who listened to the ‘Mainstage Vol.1’ compilation, Rick Mitchells lands his new E.P.! With the addictive ‘SubZero’ and playful ‘Nasty’, the young Dutch talent is right at home on the Mainstage label!
The boys of W&W know all about the potential of young Dutch talent Rick Mitchells. Mitchell’s collab with Bas van Essen, ‘Raptor’, become the second release of Mainstage Music ever. 6 months later, he kicks back in with two solo productions. One of them, ‘SubZero’, even made it to the official first compilation of W&W. W&W:”SubZero is one of those tunes that had to be one there!”.
And that’s no surprise, given its melodic flow, maddening character and outburst of tech power. ‘Nasty’ remains on the frisky side of things, riding an elecro driven synth and oldskool house claps. We’re looking forward to many more big things to come from Rick Mitchells’ studio!
Dimitri Kechagias review: Once again the two boys manage to move thousands of clubbers on the sold out Armada Night event in the Passenger Terminal in Amsterdam with great ease of course. W&W are on the rise and this year manage to climb even higher at the dj mag top 100 djs list. Their label Mainstage is all about big room fat bass in your face type of tracks and the two tracks by Rick Mitchells falls in that category. Sub zero is a moody grungy tech trance burner with dark basslines and full on bone smashing beats. It has the nu rave force to move the clubbers up and down and all the way around. On the same vein is the second club thunder track Nasty. With cool female vocal whispering Nasty, booming basslines, heavy dubstep infused distortions and wonky playful beats is the one to jump and shake your body without thinking too much. Its all about the party and those little monsters serve excellently their purpose for Mainstage play. Love iT!
