REVIEW: Rex Mundi - Interstate Of Lightning E.P. out now on Coldharbour/Armada Music

1.Interstate Of Lightning (Original Mix)
2.Rocking Hard (Original Mix)
3.When The Sun Is Rising (Original Mix)

He’s one of the most versatile yet consistently best producers out there, and he’s about to light up the summer with his second three track E.P. for Coldharbour recordings in 2011.

Dutchman Boy Hagemann has already assembled a plethora of hallmarked anthems to date already, with tracks such as Nothing at All and Opera of Northern Ocean finding themselves among fans’ personal Coldharbour favorites of all time. And in the height of Coldharbour’s 2011 summer, he’s back to present his latest offering.

Leading track Interstate of Lightning has a storied history in Markus Schulz’s livesets - going back as far as the 2010 edition of Mayday in Dortmund. A highlight of his extended sets in particular, the unveiling of the track came at one of the grandest stages of 2011, before a capacity ASOT 500 crowd in Den Bosch. With a hypnotic melody that builds and drives throughout, Interstate of Lightning forms an integral part of Markus’ newly mixed contribution for the 2011 Be At Space Ibiza compilation.

Rocking Hard is an apt description of the second track of the package, with a tough electro-influenced riff that is typical of Rex’s early work. It is one that is sure to pop up in the early parts of many livesets and will feature heavily on radio through Global DJ Broadcast and elsewhere.

Rounding out Rex’s presentation is the lush and melodic breaks of When the Sun is Rising - a track that was debuted by the man himself during his Coldharbour Day 2011 set in July. A beautiful track that will provides a fitting soundtrack to your summer.

Rex Mundi translates from Latin to English as “King of the World”. As far as Coldharbour is concerned, he is well on his way to establishing that kind of legacy.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Rex mundi is one of the big success storie's for Coldharbour. The talented Dutchman delivered some of the finest moments in the label history including the now considered trance classic Nothing at All with the awesome vocals by Susana. Interstate of Lighting opens this great Ep with a big uplifting power riff. What differientate this from his previous work is his focus on the big energizing riff and the great composition that builds relentlessly and keeps clubbers occupied. Rocking hard is proggier and techier this is one of the more playful sets with hybrid sounds and wide influences. When the sun is of course a brilliant balearic breaks chill out track with that sensational atmosphere that brings you the summer breeze right in front of you. An exceptional talent that proves that trance is in safe and secure hands. Not to miss this if you want that edgy sharp sound in your set!
