REVIEW: Neptune Project - Galatea out on FSOE/Armada Music

1.Galatea (2011 Space Odyssey Remix)
2.Galatea (Activa vs Neptune Project Mix)
3.Aztec (Suncatcher Remix)

You know your time in the studio is well spent when the number one DJ of the world names your track his personal ‘ tune of the year’. In 2009, it was UK duo Neptune Project that hit in hard with their Future Sound of Egypt debut, ‘Aztec’. Hammered by Armin van Buuren and praised by many more members of the DJ elite, ‘Aztec’  gave Dan Willis and Jules Moyce a swell kick-off to a promising musical career.

Two years and follow-ups later, Neptune Project returns to Future Sound of Egypt with a new dose of energy. It’s uplifting, it’s melodic and it’s nothing but quality trance. It’s ‘Galatea’ that’s about to kick into your speakers, seducing you with three different versions.

The Activa vs Neptune Project remix gets things started with an emotional feel-good flow of trance, riding break-beat and piano action in the break and exploding right after. The 2011 Space Odyssey remix takes things a bit slower, riding a proggy but powerful trance sound.

Last but not least, Romanian producer Suncatcher introduces you to a deeper, serene remix that takes you in with a mesmerizing break, straight-forward trance beat and all the right synths to make you move!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Its not a simple thing to manage to be a guarantee force in the trance scene and the top label Future Sound of Egypt owned by  the Egyptian trance gods Aly  Fila considered to be  synonimous of high quality trance music.  I was waiting with anticipation the return of Neptune Project after their exceptional Aztec already considered as trance classic so when I received the latest FSOE release with Galatea I was very excited. I pressed play as usual but what happened next was not as usual. Galea that is included in 2 great version is big room uplifting and epic at its finest. Carefully produced with attention to each small detail in order to offer the maximum of the  effect of the track on the dancefloor. 2011 Space odyssey version is proglifter with all the great elements that you wish to get on a trance track. Fat acidic basslines to toughen up  the proceedings and spacey effects and sounds till the first melodic lead is introduced on that FSOE style. The track will keep the foot and mind busy offering an experience second to none. Filmic wowwow sounds, piano melodies and synths that appear like sunshine in a rainy day plus lovely vocal sample to add that ethnic edge to it. The always on top form Activa works with the original artists to add that full on dominating the dancefloor surrendering to the power of the beats kind of remix. Definitely straight forward  and right to the point is a version that can not fail in a big room. Lastly the excellent Aztec gets a refreshing makeover from Suncatcher who knows his profession so well and that large epic female vocal in the breakdown sounds so intrisic absorbing and powerful like listening to it for the very first time. Overall a stand out moment in FSOE history. So better go and vote for Aly & Fila at the dj mag Top 100. They totally deserved it.
