Wellenrausch - Sanctified - the first single from their album "Personal Epos" reveals a first very close look at Wellenrausch in 2011: starting in a dark and deep ambience and slowly taking you up above the clouds, with more and more beams of light breaking through. From an almost unbearable tension, into an uplifting, powerful chorus. This is the journey Wellenrausch takes you on. From dark to light, the main theme from Wellenrausch's album "Personal Epos" definitely finds a first manifestation in "Sanctified". Mastermind Andy Tau aka Trilucid adds his magic once more, with a very deepish and atmospheric remix!
Dimitri Kechagias review: Afterglow conquest to bring the highest quality material continues with another fantastic new release that will be highly regarded by every single A list dj in the trance scene. Wellenrausch after his massive remix on Trilucid’s Hoxton returns with his brand new single taken from his forthcoming album. The package includes the original and Trilucid mix. Both versions follow the deep and travelling progressive trance style that works like a treat within a Balearic Dj set on an open air club close to the deep blue sea. The original mix of Sanctified is warm and really mysterious; enigmatic that makes you feel insecure and ready to be surprised from what is coming next. It includes hints of psy trance influences and recalls the classic trance tracks of the late 90s that music was what it really mattered and not cheesy vocals and easy to digest melodies. The male vocal used has definitely an indie rock texture and sounds like being totally out of this world. The voice is so well merged with the soundtrack that you think that is another instrument used so perfectly by Wellenrausch. Most of the times the vocal or even only the title adds a certain context from within the listener understands the intentions and the particular message that the artists try to convey in their music. Of course there is a dub mix for those who would like to let the music do the talking and allow freely the crowd to build their own mental images and mythical worlds. Trilucid aka Andy Tau proves once again that is a very talented producer and takes the original track by the hand adding more percussion and tribal beats in order to make it appropriate for djs who would like more bounce and tech flavor in their dj sets. It’s pleasant surprise to find labels like Afterglow following their own path without any compromise for any form of success. Because of the exceptional quality of their releases fans from all over the world reward Afterglow with top ten positions regularly at the Beatport trance chart.
