The New York based vocalist and singer/songwriter Betsie Larkin, best known for her collaborations with Ferry Corsten on "Made of Love" and "Feel You", has been working hard to finish her upcoming album “All We Have Is Now”. Her current single by the same title has just been released on the Premier imprint.
The release of Betsie’s new single is the direct result of an offer that world famous DJ Ferry Corsten made her last year. He expressed his plans to record a full Betsie Larkin album with various well-known producers. One thing lead to another and it won’t be long before her new album “All We Have Is Now” will see the light of day.
“All We Have Is Now”, the album title, is also the name of her first single and was produced by Super8 &Tab. Betsie wanted the single to be perfect and took things very seriously: “It's a simple concept, but hard to live by. I wanted to really dive into the meaning of the title in writing the lyrics. I was so happy to have Super8 & Tab produce. They are experts at creating the depth and intensity that I felt this tune needed.”
Fact is that “All We Have Is Now” is the perfect track to introduce Betsie Larkin’s upcoming album to the audience. The original version has been remixed by some of the world’s most in demand remixers like Daniel Wanrooy, Loverush UK and Soulshaker.
Dimitri Kechagias review: I met Betsie Larkin voice for first time on the perfect and ever green classic by Ferry Corsten - Made of Love. The lyrics with its universal meaning about all humans made of love and her performance on that track still brings shivers all over my body. Now when i read the news that Ferry Corsten offered her the chance to have her own album produced by various well known and respected trance producers I was really happy cause I trust her vocal and lyrical abilities 100%. The 1st single that is the title track of the album is simple mindblowing. Beautiful and sensitive at the same time her really unique and stand out voice is like diving in the deep blue ocean. Super8 & Tab are the producers behind this 1st album track. They considered to be one of the most respected trance duos coming from Finland, well known for their big trance anthems and their own artist album on Anjunabeats. They manage to compose a banging driving electro tech trance beat that is warm, driving and powerful at the same time with a large sensual breakdown that is the highlight moment for Betsie's vocals to shine and create that magical atmosphere that will connect her with the crowd to raise their hands in the air and feel this great track to the bones. Daniel Wanrooy who is definitely one of the hottest trance producers manage to take the track in another level bringing out in the open the dark side of it. He applies a rather surprising alternative composition with deep mysterious thumping bassline, tech trance beat that lead us on the main breakdown that is very epic with sensitive piano riff. The big change comes when the beat comes back and he plays around with the various sound layers by keeping the track low profile and really mysterious like swimming in the night in a beautiful beach at Corfu. Completely the opposite direction for Loverush UK who offer the feel good uplifting soothing summery trance meets house version with superb eclectic production values and excellent use of the vocal. Its definitely the most radio friendly versions that radio djs will adore who would like to add a bit of Ibiza in their sets. Lastly, Soulshaker deliver the prog house alternative that is blissful, electronic , melodic, nu disco with balearic feel thanks to guitar like playful riff that is using and the happy piano chords. I can imagine myself easily dancing with it on the dancefloor under the colorful discolights. Overall is an awesome package that is the perfect start for Betsie's forthcoming album. Summer is all over the place with this fantastic release that makes us all waiting with anticipation the content of her album.
