The setting of the trilogy is an initially dystopian-seeming world where dancing is diminishing. It shows the authentic hero's journey of protagonist Patrizia Battistella (voice of 1zimmerapartment) across the dance floor. Situated between history and fiction, documentary sequences mix with dramaturgical sound patterns.
The melodrama by Mike S. kicks off with the classical techno production 'Tanzen (Disco Lazer Mix)'. The powerful composition immediately induces dance stimulation, the increasing dynamism promises hope. 'Tanzen (Liebe Mix)' focuses on interview recordings. Unidealized musical sequences de-mythify dancing as the ultimate answer, yet warm harmonies affirm an optimistic outlook. 'Tanzen (Disco Lazer Instrumental)' comes without any audio comments. The exhilarating carefreeness leaves the sensation as if nothing ever happened.

The story behind „Tanzen“I came up with that idea one day – a short conversation between two people: „Hey?“„Hmm..“„Do you know what I noticed?“„Nah.. What?“„There is far too little dancing.“And then – more to the listener – Person 1 continues:„And so we dance“.After that just music, with a very driving and kinda hard beat, eventually „And so we dance“ is repeated.
Mike did somehow not share my vision and found something was missing over a very long period of time. Until one night I was at a private party and had my small mic which i can plug to my iPhone with me. So I asked almost everybody one by one, one after the other, what dancing meant to them. The answers were fantastic, so genuine and pure and although some answered the same things, like „freedom“ for example, it is very personal and individual. And Mike was pleased.By the way – he used my first take, which i sent to him only to demonstrate my idea. So there is not even a second person, I’m poorly imitating a casual talk. Rough kicks, pumping heavy basslines, tough metallic drums merged beautifully with colorful synths along with sharp synthy stabs in the background and warm strings along with spoken vocal samples and even acid touches to make it even more dirtier. The record is powerful, motivating and definitely a must play in every techno set this summer. It has great drive and energy building perfect bridge between the past and the current club sounds. For those who wish to connect just with the music there is an excellent instrumental mix too. On the other hand Tanzen (Liebe Mix) moves in the nostalgic late 90's trance territory. Superb euphoric synths with pumping basslines, thumping kicks, playful grooves and the excellent vocal snippets that work perfectly in harmony to drive the crowd insane and make them start dancing and prancing of course. Die Interviews is cool addition for DJs who wish to use it as an acapella tool and add some phrases in their mixes.
