Sven Kuhlmann is a music producer, member of the DJ and Producer Duo Stereolink and DJ. His years of experience in this field make him an established part of the music scene.
He collaborates with a wide variety of national and international Artist on a regular basis and is a sought-after remixer. In the past couple of years, he released over 500 productions, which were published by the most renowned national and international music labels. His music can also be heard playing on the radio and television. Multiple of his songs got placed in various national as well as international charts. Sven Kuhlmann is also in high demand as a DJ. His heart beats for house music, which one can hear in his passion filled sets. Because of his wide musical range, his sets have their own personal note. This is validated by his many regular club, open air, and festival performances. In 2022 he also started his own “Weekend Funk Show”, were he delivers the hottest House Sound to his Crowd.

1-a) Best track(s) from other fellow artists of 2023. Why you choose this particular track, please share with us the reasons?production techniques & crowd reactions on it.
Sven Kuhlmann: One of my favorite tracks from 2023 comes from TuraniQa and Airsand. The title is - The Answer. In addition to the vocals, I love this incredibly strong vibe in the song that just moves forward. The melody is incredibly strong and the reaction from the audience is incredible.
1-b) Best of 2023 personal productions and for what you reasons you choose these particular tracks, is it because of technical challenges, crowd reaction in the club or was it your most successful single/album?
Sven Kuhlmann: Definitely our Stereolink track - Papa was a rollin Stone, which we produced together with Da Clubbmaster and Mario Beck, is clearly a milestone for us. It opened many doors for us and is still rocking the dancefloor.
2) Best Artist of 2023(DJ & producer). Tell us why you believe he/she is the best, the factors that have influence you to choose this particular artist. What you appreciate the most from that artist.
Sven Kuhlmann: Purple Disco Machine is one of my favorite producers. I am very impressed by his production style, the quality and the musical content of his productions.
3-a) Best Remix(es) from other fellow artists of 2023. For what reasons you chose this particular remix, i.e. production proficiency, technical reasons creativity and imagination of the remixer :
Sven Kuhlmann: For me this year it was the Airsand & TuraniQa remix of Stay Forever by Adriana Hamilton and Anatolie. I love the vocals, the melodies and the production.
3-b) YOUR Best Remix which you have produced of 2023! Why you believe that this is your best remix? share with us the technical challenges or special issues you had during the production of it.
Sven Kuhlmann: In my eyes it was the remix for papa was a rollin stone. It was a great challenge to put these great vocals from one of our favorite songs into a dance barers tech house guise.
3-c) Best Remixer(s) of 2023 with short comment, for what reason u believe he/she is the best remixer? Technical professionalism and technological proficiency? the elements that stand out in it.
Sven Kuhlmann: For me, 2023 includes Purple Disco Machine. The creativity, the production style and the constant variety are great
4) Best New Talent of 2023 (DJ or producer), for what reasons you choose this particular artist? Do you know him/her personally?
Sven Kuhlmann: TuraniQa and Airsand haven't just been around since this year, but they're new to me. I think their productions and their DJing are very cool.
5-a) Best electronic dance music album of 2023. Tell us the criteria behind the choice of this particular album and maybe highlight for the readers the best tracks from the album :
Sven Kuhlmann: For me, the dance album of the year is by Cosmic Gate with the title Mosaiik. It contains many very good tracks, whether instrumental or with vocals. There are too many good ones to list them all here.
5-b) Best electronic dance music compilation of 2023. Please explain the criteria behind this choice? is the quality and proficiency of the mixing process, imagination/creativity in the choice of the track listing :
Sven Kuhlmann: For me, it was this compilation that gave me a good summer feeling this year - Milk & Sugar Summer Sessions 2023. The mix art and the selection of tracks were very successful there.
5-c) Best artwork about single / album/compilation or promotional campaign of 2023. The criteria you applied to do this particular choice?
Sven Kuhlmann: I really love the cover of our single - Papa was a rollin - stone as it fits the song phenomenally.
6) Best electronic dance music label of 2023. Please explain the reason behind your choice? what you particularly like or appreciate about this particular label?quality of tracks, great rooster of artists, personal connection?:
Sven Kuhlmann: There are many very good labels. To name one in particular here would be difficult and a little unfair.
7) Best music composition software and hardware of 2023 with short comment. Why you believe this particular software/hardware deserves to be named as the best? great new features, easy to navigate, compose & produce? The advantages of this particular software & hardware that makes it to stand out.
Sven Kuhlmann: There are many very good tools. It would be a bit difficult to name just one. Since I use a lot of hardware devices as well as software, there are a lot of tools that inspire me. My favorite DAW, which I've been using for 20 years, is Steinberg Cubase. Then there are many synthesizers, e.g. from Roland, Korg, Yamaha, Waldorf, EMU, Novation, Clavia, Arturia and GForce. I also really appreciate my Tascam console. I also love my Yamaha HS8 monitor speakers
8-a) Your Best personal DJ Gig & DJ performance of 2023. Where and when did you perform there? any funny incidents happened during particular performance; great crowd reactions. If there is video or sound recording please provide the link.
Sven Kuhlmann: There have been many great experiences at gigs this year. One highlight was definitely our gig as Stereolink in Hamburg at CSD 2023. It was outside, the weather was great, we had a view of the Alster and the audience was amazing. The perfect overall feeling.
8-b) Best DJ set from other fellow DJ (actual or online) of 2023. Why you believe is the strongest and best DJ set? great mixing/track selection/development of the mix:
Sven Kuhlmann: In Amsterdam, that was certainly the set by Turaniqa and Airsand at the Escape Club during the ADE.
9) Best technical tips/production skills that you learnt in 2023 in relation to your DJing or music productions:
Sven Kuhlmann: It wasn't so much the technology, but more the interaction with the crowd to merge.
10) Best piece of personal or music business' advice you got in relation to your career in 2023 and has helped you to progress even further and can help others who will read this interview:
Sven Kuhlmann: Take every opportunity, even if it doesn't look like much at first. Always be polite, nice and respectful as well as consistently hardworking and deliver reliably and on time.
Dimitris: Do you have any concrete plans for 2024 regarding future releases, tracks, albums, collaborations, DJ gigs? Please provide us the juicy details.
Sven Kuhlmann: With my band partner as Stereolink and as solo artist, producing lots of great new songs, playing lots of great gigs and meeting lots of great new people and preserving what we have.
